The Geospatial Data Gateway or Geo-Data Gateway provides easy and consistent access to natural resource data. You can search for available data by geographic area such as county or state, use our point and click map tool to find your area of interest; using a gazetteer, or by entering latitude and longitude coordinates. You can also search for data by theme, such as digital ortho imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs), or soils. You can then view a thumbnail, or sample of the data you've chosen to know if you want a copy of the data. If you do, you can either download the data directly onto your machine, pick it up via our ftp site, or order it on media such as CD. Access: http://datagateway.nrcs.usda.gov
This map represents the percent change in total ecosystem carbon from 1971-2000 to 2071-2100, simulated by the model MC1 under the MIROC medres future climate projection and A2 anthropogenic emissions scenario. The range of data values is from -58.9% to +36.7%. The mean value is -15.1%. The dynamic global vegetation model MC1 (e.g. Bachelet et al. 2001) was used to simulate vegetation dynamics, associated carbon and nitrogen cycle, water budget, and wild fire impacts at two study sites in eastern Oregon (Deschutes and Fremont-Winema National Forests) and in Arizona (Apache Sitgreaves National Forest area) in the context of a project funded by the USDA Forest Service (PNW 09-JV-11261900-003). Historical climate...
With its extraordinarily high biodiversity and physical heterogeneity, the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion warrants and ambitious conservation plan founded on scientifically defensible goals. The region is well-suited to an approach that combines the research and planning tracks of special elements, representation, and focal species. This multi-faceted study is ongoing, with additional focal species studies and socio-economic analyses. This dataset is a result of special elements and representation analyses and of research on one focal species, the Pacific fisher (Martes pennant pacifica). The report "A Science-based Conservation Assessment for the Klamath-Siskiyou Ecoregion" was prepared for the Siskiyou Regional Education...
Metadata created by USGS staff. Data downloaded from USGS WaterWatch (http://water.usgs.gov/waterwatch) 5/13/08. These data represent the locations of USGS streamgages. Please note: data tagged in the attributes represents conditions from the day the data was downloaded. See hyperlinked URL in attributes for current conditions at a streamgage. Original File Name: realstx The "Real-time streamflow" map tracks short-term changes (over several hours) in rivers and streams. Although the general appearance of the map changes very little from one hour to the next, individual sites may change rapidly in response to major rain events or to reservoir releases.

This map represents the percent change in total ecosystem carbon from 1971-2000 to 2071-2100, simulated by the model MC1 under the CSIRO Mk3 future climate projection and A2 anthropogenic emissions scenario. The range of data values is from -64.0% to +35.7%. The mean value is --27.9%. This map represents the percent change from 1971-2000 to 2071-2100 in the average annual amount of water contributed to the stream network, as simulated by the model MC1 under the CSIRO Mk3 future climate projection and A2 anthropogenic emissions scenario. The range of data values is from -73.4% to +69.0%. The mean value is -5.3%. Data values are calculated as (STREAMFLOW(2071-2100) minus STREAMFLOW(1971-2000)) divided by STREAMFLOW(1971-2000). STREAMFLOW data is from MC1 version B60. The dynamic global vegetation model MC1 (e.g. Bachelet et al. 2001) was used to simulate vegetation dynamics, associated carbon and nitrogen cycle, water budget, and wild fire impacts at two study sites in eastern Oregon (Deschutes...
These layers each depict one suite of methodological choices for designating land facets. Scroll through them to see how different choices affect land facet patterns. Methodological choices: Resolution: 1km or 270mCategorization approach:Categorical overlay- each variable is categorized into ecologically meaningful classes. Land facets are created from unique combinations of those classes. K-means clustering- an algorithm clusters the continuous variables into a designated number of facets. The Hartigan index was used to identify the optimal number of facets. Hybrid approach- a combination of the categorical overlay and a clustering method. Topographic data were categorized, and within each topographic class...

This dataset was clipped to the WLCI study area by USGS staff. The geologic map was digitized from original scribe sheets used to prepare the published Geologic Map of Wyoming (Love and Christiansen, 1985), consequently at a 1:500,000 scale. Stable base contact prints of the scribe sheets were scannned on a Tektronix 4991 digital scanner. The scanner automatically converts the scanned image to an ASCII vector format. These vectors were transferred to a VAX minicomputer, where they were loaded into Arc/Info. The dataset includes both linear and polygon features, with attributes derived from the original 1985 map.

This map represents the change between 1971-2000 and 2070-2099 in the annual peak fraction of total live vegetation carbon held in herbaceous plants, as simulated by the model MC1 under the Hadley future climate projection and A2 anthropogenic emissions scenario. The average change in the fraction of total live vegetation held in herbaceous plants for the respective 30-year periods decreased in some of the 5,311 grid cells of the Eastern Oregon study area and increased in others. The range of data values is from -0.600 to +0.991. The mean value is +0.188. Data values are calculated as GFRAC(2070-2099) minus GFRAC(1971-2000). GFRAC data is from MC1 version B60. The vegetation model MC1 (e.g. Bachelet et al....
