The Conservation Efforts Database (CED) in a web-based monitoring and reporting tool that captures data about the conservation, restoration, and recovery actions for the imperiled sagebrush ecosystemand sage-grouse. Funding support from FWS (Science Applications and Nevada Ecological Services) have allowed the CED Team to develop a module for recording data about conservation actions, habitat condition, demography, and genetic information for Lahontan Cutthroat Trout and we propose to expand that effort to include aquatic systems in Legacy Region 6. We propose to use funding to engage with stakeholders to scope the information gaps and tool needs to record and monitor conservation actions and information focused...

The stream systems of Hawai‘i are unique and home to many rare species, including five native fish and five native shellfish. These native species have amphidromous life cycles, meaning that they spend part of their lives in the ocean and part in freshwater streams. Stream flow serves as a vital natural pathway, connecting saltwater and freshwater habitats so that these animals can migrate between them and carry out critical life stages (e.g., development, reproduction). Over the last 20 years, the amount of rainfall in Hawai‘i has decreased, and climate models predict that this trend will continue. It is uncertain how reduced rainfall will affect stream flow and, consequently, the native stream species that depend...

This project will build upon a recently completed synthesis product for the Southwest and review and analyze vulnerability assessments of aquatic species and habitats within the Southern Rockies Landscape Conservation Cooperative. Southwestern riparian systems support a disproportionate amount of the regional biodiversity and are likely to be strongly affected by changes in climate with a concordant disproportionate effect on surrounding landscapes and features. The SRLCC encompasses the Upper Colorado River Basin and a portions of the Lower Colorado and Rio Grande Basins. These systems represent some of the most critical water sources in the west and are likely to experience some of the most extreme changes in...
