U-Pb analyses were performed on igneous rocks from the Ray Mountains area of west-central Alaska. These new age analyses will allow us to better evaluate the geochronology of the granitic rocks that are the apparent source of the alluvial REE and tin resources. The plutonic samples have ages ranging from 98.0 +/- 0.9 Ma to 111.6 +/- 1.0 Ma. The sample location coordinates and analytical data tables associated with this report are available in digital format as comma-separated value (CSV) files.

This report provides detailed (1:63,360-scale) mapping of portions of U.S. Geological Survey Circle B-2 (1955), B-3 (1955), B-4 (1952), C-2 (1955), C-3 (1955), and C-4 (1952) quadrangles. The area is part of the Circle mining district and adjacent to the Fairbanks mining district. This report includes detailed geologic, structural, stratigraphic, and geochronologic data. Based on the resulting geologic maps, field investigations, and laboratory materials analyses, the project has also generated derivative maps of geologic construction materials and geologic hazards.

This raster depicts the percentage of lithological magnesium oxide (MgO) content in surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average percent MgO content for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. We used state geologic maps (Preliminary Integrated Geologic Map Databases for the United States, Open File Reports 2004-1355, 2005-1305, 2005-1323, 2005-1324, 2005-1325, 2005-1351, and 2006-1272), which depict surficial geology instead of bedrock when the surficial layers are sufficiently deep. For the state maps that do not incorporate surficial geology (i.e., midwestern states), we overlaid surficial geologic map units with thicknesses greater than 100 feet (from...

This raster depicts the percentage of lithological the compressive strength, measured as uniaxial compressive strength (in megaPascals, MPa) of surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average strength for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. For the state maps that do not incorporate surficial geology (i.e., midwestern states), we overlaid surficial geologic map...

This raster depicts the percentage of lithological aluminum oxide (Al2O3) content in surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average percent Al2O3 content for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. This child item dataset contains horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) data from Rensselaer County, New York, for 20 measurements, REHVSR1 - REHVSR20. Raw and processed HVSR data for each HVSR measurement are included in zipped directories named by the measurement site identifier. Site identifiers are designated by a county sequential numbering system (REHVSR1, REHVSR20, etc. where "RE" indicates Rensselaer County).

This map service is an information surface representing the shallowest distance to the top of a bedrock layer within a soil map unit polygon. To calculate this value, any component or combination of components in a soil map unit polygon that are greater than or equal to 15% of the whole soil map unit are considered significant. And of these significant components, the shallowest distance to bedrock is reported by this service. This means the average distance to bedrock of the entire soil map unit should be deeper than is reported here, but the shallowest distance is the more important information surface since this value limits capabilities and activities on the surface. Although there is data for the whole...

The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) has completed the six-year project to digitally compile geologic data for the entire state. This effort brings together the best available geologic mapping from state and federal agency sources, student thesis work, and consultants. The project will create a new statewide digitally-compiled geologic map coverage that will become a component of the Geoscience Theme within the Oregon Framework Themes. The Oregon Framework Themes effort is coordinated by the Oregon Geospatial Enterprise Office, Oregon Department of Administrative Services

This data release contains 3-meter gridded rasters of depth to bedrock below bathymetric surface, the thickness of unconsolidated sediment, and the volume of unconsolidated sediment within a 2.6-km reach of the Similkameen River, Okanogan County, Washington, impounded by Enloe Dam. These rasters were calculated from continuous resistivity profiles (CRP) surveyed using a SuperSting R8 8-channel resistivity meter with a CRP streamer containing a 100-m long array of 11 electrodes was towed behind a boat spaced at 10 m. After collection, the raw CRP files were georeferenced to coordinates concurrently by a global positioning system. Output files were merged and linearized. This was converted to a data file compatible...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This geographic information system (GIS) data layer shows the generalized lithologic and geochemical, termed lithogeochemical, character of near-surface bedrock in the New England Coastal Basins (NECB) study area of the U.S. Geological Survey's National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program. The area encompasses 23,000 square miles in western and central Maine, eastern Massachusetts, most of Rhode Island, eastern New Hampshire...

This geologic map and report depicts portions of the Livengood B-3, B-4, C-3, and C-4 quadrangles. The Livengood area is a historically productive placer mining area approximately 80 road miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska. This report synthesizes recently collected and previously published agency and industry geologic data in a 1:50,000-scale comprehensive geologic map to build a better understanding of the geology and mineral-resource potential of the Livengood area. It expands and updates the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) Preliminary Interpretive Report (PIR) 2004-3 with the addition of new DGGS mapping and drillhole data from ITH, and integrates previously published DGGS surficial...

This data release contains data from five seismic-reflection surveys in New York’s East River between Governors Island and the Queensboro Bridge. Data are provided in the original proprietary data format, a SEGy data exchange format, and as a shape file of locations and depths to bedrock. Depths to bedrock were derived from the seismic signal travel time and an assumed speed of sound of 5,000 feet/second.
