Growth potential of redband trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss newberri) was simulated across 175 river segments in the Donner und Blitzen River basin for water years 1980 through 2021 using a bioenergetics model. A previously published framework for assessing climate vulnerability of redband trout was used to simulate the growth potential of redband trout in relation to constraints on body size, physiological responses linked to variable thermal regimes, and variation in physiological adaptive capacity. This dataset represents a modeling effort intended to explore the impacts of oiling on migratory birds. The purpose of this model is to provide a first principles approach to predict potential biological impacts of altered energetics dynamics in north American migratory birds due to oiling of feathers. This data includes predicted theoretical impacts on migration timing, wintering latitude, starvation rates, and increased food uptake. This data was generated through model implementation in R (R Core Team 2020; Version 4.0.4).

This data release comprises 4 datasets used to measure the field metabolic rate, body composition, foraging success, behavior, and movement patterns of 9 female polar bears on the sea ice of the Beaufort Sea in April, 2014-2016 as well as 1 dataset used to measure the energetic cost of resting in an adult female polar bear at the San Diego Zoo, San Diego, CA. Wild bears were dosed with and had their blood analyzed for oxygen-18 and deuterium concentrations, equipped with GPS-enabled satellite video camera collars with tri-axial accelerometers, and blood was measured for serum urea and creatinine levels. The bear at the San Diego Zoo had her oxygen consumption measured while resting in a metabolic chamber.
This dataset is one table with time-linked behavior data derived from video camera collars on polar bears on land near Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. Eighteen polar bears were equipped with video-camera collars (Vertex Plus collar with camera option, Vectronic Aerospace GmbH, Berlin, Germany) for 19 - 23 days in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
SWAMP provides a tool for wildlife management stakeholders to predict the effects of landscape changes on populations of foragers, specifically focused on waterfowl and other migratory birds. Specifically, we have developed SWAMP as a spatially-explicit agent based model to determine the carrying capacity and energy budgets of waterfowl foraging on moist-soil managed wetlands and flooded riceland during winter in the Central Valley (CV), with a goal to extend the application of SWAMP to other regions and species.
