This paper proposes a regional and sectoral model of global final energy demand. For the main end-use sectors of consumption (industrial, commercial and public services, residential and road transportation), per-capita demand is expressed as an S-shaped function of per-capita income. Other variables intervene as well, like energy prices, temperatures and technological trends. This model is applied on a panel of 101 countries and 3 aggregates (covering the whole world) and it explains fairly well past variations in sectoral, final consumption since the beginning of the 2000s. The elevation contour data was created based on bathymetry obtained in the meander reach collected in about a one month period extending from 6/3/2010 - 6/19/2010. Dataset contains contours at 10-foot intervals of the San Antonio Reservoir, California, based on the bathymetric survey conducted in April of 2018. Files are provided as geospatial shapefiles and CAD (.dwg file extension) files.
In low permeability but naturally fractured media, vertical leaching or volatilization of toxic organic compounds can lead to high exposures and unacceptable human health or environmental risk. A field test was recently completed to evaluate in situ remediation at such sites by using hydraulic fracturing to emplace iron metal (Fe0) and permanganate (KMnO4) solids in the subsurface to chemically treat trichloroethylene (TCE). At an old land treatment site, two test cells were installed in silty clay soils with hydraulic fractures filled with either iron metal or permanganate solids at 1.8, 2.4, and 3.6 m depths. This funding will be used to hire 1 GS 9/11 staff member to work directly with local governments (Soil & Water Conservation Districts) to enroll landowners in priority habitats in existing Candidate Conservation Agreements with Assurances (CCAAs) and in Candidate Conservation Agreements (CCAs) on their adjacent BLM allotments. Once enrolled, state and other federal funding sources are available to support sagebrush habitat enhancement projects that address invasive species, fire, juniper encroachment and other threats. The additional capacity is expected to result in an additional +100 landowners enrollments.

The U.S. Geological Survey provides a wide range of scientific information to an even wider group of stakeholders. Understanding what capacities are needed and if and or where these capacities exist across the USGS landscape is critical in moving science to the next level of use, implementation, and visualization. The concept behind the groups organized to conduct and interpret the survey that collected these data took advantage of the USGS’s position as a science organization with expertise spanning a wide range of science disciplines, stakeholders, and responsibilities. A survey was conducted of USGS employees (Sep 20-Nov 20) to get a current sample of the capacities that exist across the USGS.

The major clay step features are defined as having a vertical face that is greater than 1.5 meters. The clay step features were qualitately identified using an underwater video monitoring sysyem. The extent and magnitude of the clay steps were mapped using a muliteam bathymetric echosounder system.

This article presents the findings of a study that examined three municipalities in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada, in order to determine the nature of the socio-cultural and institutional barriers to action on climate change at the local level.
