These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. The minor clay step features are defined as having a vertical face that is less than or equal to 1.5 meters. The clay step features were qualitately identified using an underwater video monitoring sysyem. The extent and magnitude of the clay steps were mapped using a muliteam bathymetric echosounder system.

Dataset contains a comma delimited (csv) file reservoir stage-area and stage-volume tables. Stage is provided in elevation (in ft NAVD88) in the first column in 0.1 ft increments. Reservoir surface area is in acres and volume in acre-feet at each of those 0.1 foot increments.

The egg-mat data describe a sub-set of the egg-mat network operated by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. The sub-set inlcudes two sites, 1. near an area commonly known as Shorty's Island, and 2. near the Kootenai River confluence with Myrtle Creek at an area commonly known as Myrtle Bend. The egg-mats consist of artificial substrate mats that are deployed and retrieved every 24-48 hours by IDFG personnel. The egg-mat material...

The CED will be the tool for USFWS programs to enter in their information on BIL projects. This funding supports modifications to the system to allow for BIL tracking and reporting.
The Capacity Building Project increased the North Central Climate Science Center (NC CSC) constituents’ abilities to gather and use climate data through formation of the Indigenous Phenology Network (IPN), collaboration with AmericaView to join the PhenoCam network, partnership with the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) to offer free regional climate smarts courses, and mentoring of students.

The shaded relief raster data was created based on bathymetry obtained in the meander reach collected in about a one month period extending from 6/3/2010 - 6/19/2010. This subset data extends from river kilometer designator 228 upstream to 237. Similar methods used to collect and process the bathymetry are described in Fosness (2013). The shaded relief was created from a surface raster (also referred to as digital elevation model)...

The substrate enhancement pilot project (SEPP) extent GIS layer represents an area where an artificial substrate will be placed. The artificial substrate, consisting of a mixed size class of gravel, is aimed at providing a more suitable substrate for sturgeon eggs and early-life rearing habitat. The location of the SEPP extent was created by analyzing the egg-mat network, bathymetric features, surficial sediment facies, and streamflow...
The paper investigates whether the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol has played a significant role in the development of rural communities, specifically investigating uptake of small-scale renewable energy projects. The investigation involved an assessment of 500 registered small-scale CDM projects under the Kyoto Protocol in terms of their potential impact on the envisaged sustainable development goals for rural communities. Five case studies from the Indian subcontinent were also examined. The paper concludes that the CDM in its current state and design has typically failed to deliver the promised benefits with regard to development objectives in rural areas. Successful projects were found...

Acoustic doppler current profiling (ADCP) data was collected to describe streamflow characteristics including total streamflow, velocity magnitude and secondary flow structure, and backscatter intensity at 29 cross-sections at the Myrtle Creek Bend on the Kootenai River on June 3, 2013. Each of the 29 cross-sections consisted of 4 transects or bank-to-bank coverage to obtain a representative velocity pattern. The mean daily streamflow...

FY2015Researchers conducted interviews with sagebrush land managers from Oregon, Idaho and Utah to identify the most relevant variables, threats and management strategies relevant to their specific sagebrush management areas. Managers were also asked to assess a series of web-based climate tools, providing feedback about what features of the tools were most intuitive, interesting and useful, or complicated, unnecessary, and in need of revision. Results from the first phase of the project suggested several directions to improve existing climate tools.
