This data set includes bi-monthly data on submerged aquatic vegetation species composition, percent cover, above and below ground biomass and environmental data at coastal sites across the fresh to saline gradient in Barataria Bay, LA. This project was co-funded by the South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center and the Gulf Coast Prairie and the Gulf Coastal Plains and Ozarks Landscape Conservation Cooperatives. An alternate reference to this product can be found here.

Data from 316 boreholes (including coreholes) that penetrated buried pre-Middle Jurassic basement rocks that lie beneath Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain sedimentary deposits in Florida and Alabama were compiled from non-proprietary, mostly published sources in order to support subsurface geologic mapping, geologic interpretation of geophysical data (aeromagnetic, gravity, seismic), topical studies as in geochronology, and applications ranging from mineral, energy, and water resources to earthquake hazards. Boreholes into bedrock beneath the coastal plain near the Fall Line in Alabama reveal buried extensions of geologic units exposed in the Piedmont, and those near the Gulf coast and beneath Florida provide rare...

These value-added, raster-based maps of forest fragmentation were produced using Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) regional land cover data. The analysis was performed using the Landscape Fragmentation Tool from the University of Connecticut’s Center for Land Use Education and Research (CLEAR). Intact forests are ecologically important but are becoming increasingly susceptible to development pressures and conversion. Forest fragmentation is the breaking up of large contiguous forest tracts into smaller, or less contiguous, areas. It is important to look at not only the net change in forest area, but also the spatial pattern of the observed changes. In these data, forest fragmentation is classified into four...

This dataset consists of shapefiles that are digitized contours of the structure of Cenozoic and late Cretaceous strata along the Gulf and Atlantic Coastal plains from Texas to New Jersey, not including Maryland and Delaware. Well depths and seismic profiles indicating depth to or elevation of subsurface geologic contacts present in some datasets have also been digitized. Metadata files (.xml) describing each dataset are present within the SHP.zip file subdirectories. Original ArcGIS rasters and overlays from which the contours were digitized are available in the TIF.zip file subdirectories. Digitized datasets are: Arthur, J.K., and Taylor, R.E., 1990, Definition of the Geohydrological Framework and Preliminary...

These present data on sediment carbon within submerged aquatic vegetation beds from fresh to saline coastal locations in Barataria Bay, Louisiana. Water quality, site location, vegetation biomass and species composition are presented. This project was co-funded by the South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center and the Gulf Coast Prairie Landscape Conservation Cooperative and Gulf Coastal Plains and Ozarks LCC. An alternate reference to this product can be found here.
