This dataset provides spatial predictions of habitat suitability for current (1950 – 2000 yr) and mid-Holocene (8.3 ka – 4.2 ka) intervals using hindcasting, and three separate paleo-distributions calibrated on the packrat midden archive: those without bias correction (naïve), those created with a standard method (standard), and those created with a novel alternative (modeled) incorporating a three-stage model of bias. The raster layers contained here accompany the manuscript Inman et al. 2018 and were used to evaluate utility of a novel bias correction method (modeled) over classic methods. Spatial predictions of habitat suitability were created using MaxEnt version 3.4.0 (Phillips et al., 2006), a widely-used...

This data release includes climatic variables and associated descriptive material created for the purpose of assessing uncertainties associated with climatic estimates based on vegetation assemblages (Thompson and others, 2021). The data are from the interior of the western United States, including all of Arizona, and portions of California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. The data are observed, interpolated, and estimated values for the mean temperature of the coldest month (MTCO, degrees C), mean temperature of the warmest month (MTWA, degrees C), and mean annual total precipitation (MAP, mm).

The purpose of this agreement is to initiate SRLCC-wide data discovery, cataloging, and general GIS analysis to characterize the landscape across the SRLCC geographic area. The SRLCC has identified the need for a data management activity to support all aspects of data discovery, dissemination, cataloging, and analysis. An existing agreement between FWS and the USGS provides for an SRLCC catalog inside the U.S. Geological Survey-sponsored ScienceBase scientific data and information management platform and provides the ability for partner organizations to maintain and contribute to this work environment. Initial information and data discovery process will compile existing resources in the ScienceBase SRLCC data portal...
