These data were compiled to determine whether transient population dynamics substantially alter population growth rates of sagebrush after disturbance, impede resilience and restoration, and in turn drive ecosystem transformation. Data were collected from 2014-2016 on sagebrush population height distributions at 531 sites across the Great Basin that had burned and were subsequently reseeded by the BLM. These data include field data on sagebrush density in 6 size classes and site attributes (seeding year, sampling year, random site designation, elevation, seeding rate). Also included are modeled spring soil moisture data at each site from the year of seeding to sampling. This data release includes associated software...

Population range for each city/town. pop_2: 101-1000 U.S. Populated Place Points represents populated places with population projected for 2030 that include census designated places, consolidated cities, and incorporated places within United States identified by the U.S. Census Bureau.

These data were compiled to investigate the evolutionary history of Graham's beardtongue (Penstemon grahamii). Objective(s) of our study were to determine the evolutionary history of P. grahamii, including ancestral population sizes, the history of population divergences, and historical connectivity. In addition, we characterized population structure, genetic diversity summary statistics, and landscape factors influencing differentiation. These data represent anonymous loci sequenced from throughout the P. grahamii genome (specifically, .vcf and .structure files). Data in these files were manipulated to represent site frequency spectra between population pairs (.data files). These data were collected in 2019 from...

These data were compiled to investigate the evolutionary history of Hilaria jamesii, Hilaria mutica, and Hilaria rigida. The data release consists of two tab delimited text files that may be used to infer population structure (viva_structure.stru) or relationships among sampling localities (viva.phylip). Files record genetic variation on an individual (.stru) or sampling locality (.phylip) level. These files may be opened and edited in a text editor program, such as Notepad ++ (PC) or BBEdit (Mac). The .phylip file can be uploaded to phyML or SVDQuartets to generate a tree-based visualization of relationships ( http://www.atgc-montpellier.fr/phyml/ or https://paup.phylosolutions.com, repectively). The .stru file...

This dataset used in the Northern Great Basin Rapid Ecoregional Assessment by BLM. No changes were made to the data but it only iuncludes counties touching the ecoregion boundary. It is used as basemap data for several figures where county boundaries were needed.

The Conservation Strategy Management Area (CSMA) is an area within which a delisted Yellowstone grizzly bear population was managed with the objective to maintain a stable to increasing population. The CSMA was formalized in the 2007 Federal Rule (72 FR 14866) which removed the Yellowstone distinct population segment from Federal protection as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. The CSMA was delineated as the area from within which the Yellowstone grizzly bear population size was estimated and sustainable mortality thresholds and demographic criteria were applied. The decision to replace the CSMA boundary with the Demographic Monitoring Area was first approved by the Yellowstone Ecosystem Subcommittee...

The Northwest Climate Conference (formerly called the Pacific Northwest Climate Science Conference) is the premier climate science event for the region, providing a forum for researchers and practitioners to share scientific results and discuss challenges and solutions related to the impacts of climate change on people, natural resources, and infrastructure in the Northwest. Conference participants include policy- and decision-makers, resource managers, and scientists from academia, public agencies, sovereign tribal nations, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. More information can be found at the conference website: http://pnwclimateconference.org. The Third Annual Pacific Northwest Climate Science...

This thematic map summarizes racial and ethnic diversity in the United States. The Diversity Index shows the likelihood that two persons chosen at random from the same area, belong to different race or ethnic groups. The index ranges from 0 (no diversity) to 100 (complete diversity). The diversity score for the entire United States in 2010 is 60. This data variable is included in Esri’s Updated Demographics (2010/2015). This thematic map summarizes racial and ethnic diversity in the United States. This thematic map presents the average household size in the United States in 2010; the average household size for the U.S. in 2010 is 2.59. The 2010 Average Household Size is the household population divided by total households. This map shows Esri's 2010 estimates using Census 2000 geographies. The geography depicts States at greater than 25m scale, Counties at 750k to 25m scale, Census Tracts at 150k to 750km scale, and Census Block Groups at less than 150k scale.
