Long-term field observation of shrubland ecosystem in Wyoming, USA from 2008-2018

The importance of monitoring shrublands to detect and understand changes through time is increasingly recognized as critical to management. This dataset focuses on ecological change observation over ten years of field observation at 134 plots within two sites that are located in Southwestern of Wyoming, USA from 2008-2018. At sites 1 and 3, 134 long-term field observation plots were measured annually from 2008 to 2018. Digital elevation model (DEM) of the Sacramento River Deep Water Ship Channel (DWSC), Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California

This metadata describes a digital elevation model (DEM) created from bathymetric and topographic data collected between 2017 and 2019 in the Sacramento River Deep Water Ship Channel (DWSC), northern Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California. We merged the newly collected bathymetric and topographic data presented in this data release (DOI:10.5066/P9AQSRVH) with 2019 surveys by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and 2017 USGS Sacramento Delta Lidar, to produce a seamless digital elevation model of the DWSC at a grid resolution of 1 m.

High resolution satellite remote-sensing-based maps of dissolved organic matter and turbidity for the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta

The goal of this study was to develop a suite of inter-related water quality monitoring approaches capable of modeling and estimating spatial and temporal gradients of particulate and dissolved total mercury (THg) concentration, and particulate and dissolved methyl mercury (MeHg), concentration, in surface waters across the Sacramento / San Joaquin River Delta (SSJRD). Russian-thistle field and seed bank data at Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona, 2015-2016

These data were compiled as part of a field and growth chamber study of the establishment of Salsola tragus (Russian thistle), an invasive non-native annual plant in North America. Field work was conducted at Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona in 2015 and 2016 and the growth chamber study was conducted in 2016. The data represent field measurements of Salsola germination and growth (cover) and sediment movement at two field sites, one a stabilized sand sheet (SS) and the other on the ridge of a sand dune (SD). The data also represent a growth chamber assessment of the soil and litter seed bank from representative samples take at the two field sites.

These data present suspended particle size distributions collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center at three locations in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Data were collected in Lindsey Slough on April 4 and April 18, 2017, and near the mouth of the Mokelumne River and in Middle River on March 14, 2018 by deploying a Sequoia Scientific Laser In-situ Scattering and Transmissometry instrument (LISST 100x) from a small vessel during the deployment of the hydrographic time series data instruments. Multibeam acoustic-backscatter data collected in 2015 near Cross Sound, southeast Alaska, during field activity 2015-629-FA

In 2015 the U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center, in cooperation with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG), collected bathymetry and acoustic-backscatter data near Cross Sound in southeast Alaska using a Reson 7111 multibeam echosounder mounded to the ADFG R/V Solstice. This section of the data release provides the acoustic-backscatter data as a GeoTIFF at 10-m spatial resolution. All files have accompanying FGDC metadata.

Hydrodynamic and sediment transport time-series data, including water depth, velocity, turbidity, conductivity, and temperature, were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center within two embayments of San Francisco Bay. Data were collected in San Pablo Bay and Grizzly Bay from June to August 2019 at seven unique stations. These data were compiled to determine whether transient population dynamics substantially alter population growth rates of sagebrush after disturbance, impede resilience and restoration, and in turn drive ecosystem transformation. Data were collected from 2014-2016 on sagebrush population height distributions at 531 sites across the Great Basin that had burned and were subsequently reseeded by the BLM. Microsatellite genotypes for Lake Sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens) Eggs and Larvae from Constructed Reefs in the St. Clair-Detroit River System (2015-2016)

This dataset contains the physical collection information (e.g., sample location, date, gear type) and microsatellite DNA genotype of egg and larval Lake Sturgeon collected in the St. Clair and Detroit rivers in 2015 and 2016. Individuals were genotyped for 18 microsatellite loci (13 disomic and 5 polysomic). Alleles (base pair sizes) were recorded as presence absence scores (1:present, 2:absent, 0:missing data) for all previously observed alleles. Thus individual genotypes were recorded as pseudo diploid dominant phenotypes resulting in individual vectors of length n=205 for each genotyped egg or larval individual.
