This article offers a critical review of eight tradable permit markets: water permits at Fox River, Wisconsin; the U.S. leaded gasoline phase-out; sulfur dioxide credits under the U.S. Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990; the Regional Clean Air Incentives Market (RECLAIM) for controlling ozone and acid rain in Southern California; renewable energy credit trading at the regional level in the United States; individual transferrable quotas for fisheries at the national level in New Zealand; carbon credits traded under the European Union-Emissions Trading Scheme; and carbon offsets permitted under the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol. Dataset contains digital versions of physical core logs housed in Missouri Geological Survey archives. The logs are variable in detail, ranging from simple locations and formation tops to extensive stratigraphic descriptions and chemistry. A portion were done by MGS staff; others were donated by industry, academia, and government entities. The dataset includes logs for mines or undeveloped deposits with occurrences of or potential for critical minerals, along with logs in areas with permissive geology. The dataset comprises three tables: header and location information; formation/stratigraphic top, bottom and written description; and geochemical and assay data.

Unconformity between Mount Rainier lava and the Stevens Ridge Formation at Margaret Falls. The 500-foot cliff over which the cascade tumbles was carved from an intracanyon flow of Mount Rainier andesite. This flow rests on tilted tuffaceous sedimentary rocks of the Stevens Ridge Formation in the foreground. The cliff cuts diagonally across the intracanyon flow, revealing the curving contact of the flow against the wall of the old canyon that the lava filled. Columnar jointing in the lava fans out to meet the canyon wall, staying perpendicular to the cooling surface. A recent ablation moraine from Cowlitz Glacier mantles bedrock in the foreground. The vegetation and landcover of Valley Forge National Historical Park (VAFO) were mapped to the association level of the National Vegetation Classification System developed by The Nature Conservancy and network of Natural Heritage Programs. The mapping process was based on the USGS-NPS Vegetation Mapping Program with some modifications due to the size of the mapped polygons. A total of 308 plots were used to assess the thematic accuracy of the database.The estimated overall thematic accuracy of the database is 81.20 percent.
