This .zip file contains five products that will allow users to recreate the analyses and spatial data figures used in Sergeant et al. 2023, Hypoxia Vulnerability in the Salmon Watersheds of Southeast Alaska: 1) Hypoxia vulnerability calculations (.csv file) at water temperature monitoring sites, 2) Hypoxia vulnerability calculations (.csv file) for stream reaches near hatchery release sites, 3) Habitat characteristics (.csv file) at water temperature monitoring sites, 4) R code (.R file) for recreating Figure 3, modeled contours of the estimated number of pink salmon/m2 to create hypoxia in Southeast Alaska streams across all potential combinations of velocity, depth, and water temperature, 5) Esri map package (.mpk...
This coverage is a spatial representation of most of the Pacific Northwest hatchery facilities in the StreamNet database. Information about the location of each hatchery was collected from StreamNet personnel at WDFW (Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife), ODFW (Oregon Dept of Fish & Wildlife), IDFG (Idaho Dept of Fish & Game), and MFWP (Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks) and the tabular information about each hatchery in the StreamNet database was then added to each hatchery point in the GIS coverage

Bacterial kidney disease (BKD) caused by Renibacterium salmoninarum (Rs) occurs nearly worldwide where wild or cultured salmonid fishes are present. Control of BKD is confounded by its two modes of transmission, horizontal (fish-to-fish) and vertical (from female parent to progeny via the eggs). A highly successful BKD control strategy employed in Pacific Northwest hatcheries culturing spring Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) includes: (1) injecting pre-spawning adults with a macrolide antibiotic to improve survival and reduce Rs infection levels, (2) broodstock culling of highly infected females and (3) improved fish husbandry. However, the future availability of the injectable macrolide antibiotic (erythromycin)...
