File-based data for download: https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/632a1290d34e71c6d67b9061Related report with figures: https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr20221081Location and extent of the human modification threat across the sagebrush biome in the United States for 2020. Blue areas (dark and light, representing core sagebrush areas [CSAs] and growth opportunity areas [GOAs], respectively) are locations of high sagebrush ecological integrityand could serve as anchor points in an overall biome-wide strategy. A separate, high-resolution portable document format (PDF) version of this mapis available at https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr20221081 so that stakeholders can zoom in and see the results at much smaller scales. This dataset was produced in by the Delaware Geological survey in cooperation with the US Geological Survey and Delaware Department of Transportation for the purpose of delineating gage basins and performing hydrologic analysis in the Delaware 2020 StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of the fundamental dataset layers necessary for the functionality of StreamStats application within the Delaware StreamStats 2020 study area. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering and design purposes. The map-based user interface can be used to delineate drainage areas, get basin characteristics...

In cooperation with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the U.S. Geological Survey prepared a geospatial raster dataset describing impervious surface in the SC StreamStats study area derived from the 30m resolution National Land Cover Dataset (NLCD) 2019. This layer, which covers the SC StreamStats study area, has been resampled from the source resolution to a scale of 30ft pixels and reprojected to the common projection of the other project data layers (SC State Plane NAD 1983 International Feet WKID 2273). It will be served as part of the SC StreamStats application (https://streamstats.usgs.gov) to describe delineated watersheds. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools...

Predictions of raven occurrence in the absence of natural environmental effects. Raven point counts were related to landscape covariates using Bayesian hierarchical occupancy models and the means of the posterior distributions for relevant effects were used to generate the predictions.

We monitored Greater Sage-Grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter, Sage-Grouse) nests and various habitat characteristics at the nest locations near Susanville in northeastern California, crossing over into northwestern Nevada. We employed a before-after-control-impact (BACI) experimental design to account for spatiotemporal heterogeneity in the system and to derive estimates of relative change in survival parameters. Sage-Grouse nest survival decreased after the Rush Fire but decreased more in the burned area relative to the unburned area. Although female Sage-Grouse continued to occupy burned areas, nest survival was reduced from 52 percent to 19 percent. Using a BACI ratio approach we found that nest survival...

This data release contains data collected during August 2020 for the post Carr fire Bioassessment project at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Shasta County, California. Data includes sediment and habitat characteristics, water chemistry, and biological conditions of tributaries to Whiskeytown Lake and Clear Creek below the dam. Samples were also collected to assess concentrations of metals in sediment, water, and invertebrate and fish tissues.

These data were collected to characterize the quantity and quality of microplastic particles found in 17 streams in the northeastern United States, from New York to Virginia. USGS staff who represent the Urban Landscapes Capabilities Team (ULCT) within the North Atlantic-Appalachian Region designed the study and collected the water samples on which the data are based. Data were collected during 2017 and 2018 and included a baseflow and stormflow sample at each site. Additionally, the various microplastic particles in each sample were characterized by one of two different size-fraction categories (categories of 355-1000 micrometers and 1000-5600 micrometers), by type of particle (fiber/line, fiber clump, bead/pellet,...

This CSV file contains landscape factors representing anthropogenic disturbances to stream habitats summarized within 6th level Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC12) watersheds of the Watershed Boundary Dataset. The source datasets compiled and attributed to spatial units were identified as being: (1) meaningful for assessing fluvial fish habitat; (2) consistent across the entire study area in the way that they were assembled; (3) broadly representative of conditions in the past 10 years, and (4) of sufficient spatial resolution that they could be used to make valid comparisons among local catchment units. Variables summarized at the HUC12 scale include measures of anthropogenic land uses, population density, roads, dams,...

This dataset is comprised of eight files related to salt marsh monitoring data or measures of of human disturbance (i.e. human impacts in terms of physical, chemical, and land-use stressors) collected at 33 marsh study units (MSUs) in five National Parks within the NPS Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN) along the northeastern coast of the US. Two files contain data related to the species and coverage of salt marsh vegetation observed in MSUs (1 data file, 1 definitions file). Two files contain data related to the species and abundance of nekton collected from creeks, pools and ditches in MSUs (1 data file, 1 definitions file). Two files contain data related to the height of key salt marsh vegetation species...

These data show the multilocus genotypes, gender, and midline carapace length (MCL) for desert tortoises (Gopherus agassizii) sampled in the central portion of the Mojave desert tortoise range. This data supports the following publication: Dutcher, K.E., Vandergast, A.G., Esque, T.C., Mitelberg, A., Matocq, M.D., Heaton, J.S. and Nussear, K.E., Genes in space: what Mojave Desert tortoise genetics can tell us about landscape connectivity. Conservation Genetics, pp.1-15.

This dataset consists of one table with a record (row) for each goose location and columns containing location information and covariates. The dataset was used in an analysis of altitude selection and flight propensity in an accompanying paper (Weiser et al. 2024) and is being provided here to allow replication of that analysis. Goose locations (latitude, longitude, and altitude) were collected with GPS tags and represent three subspecies: Pacific Greater White-fronted Goose, Tule Greater White-fronted Goose, and Lesser Snow Goose. Covariates include weather information from ERA5 (Hersbach et al. 2022). In addition to the "used" locations (altitudes at which birds were recorded), the dataset also includes "available"...
