These data were compiled for/to modeling efforts for U.S. Bureau of Reclamation National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses for the Colorado River in Grand Canyon, Arizona. Objective(s) of our study were to create revised monthly Lake Powell elevations and outflows from Bureau of Reclamation Colorado River Mid-term Modeling System (CRMMS) traces that incorporate the alternatives in the sEIS documents and indicate when potential actions may occur and how that changes water movement and storage. These data represent monthly hydrologies for Lake Powell: inflow, outflow, and elevation forecasts for 2024-2027, as well as volumes of water in outflows for different water mangement strategies in NEPA supplemental...

This data release contains a comma-delimited ascii file of five same-day, discrete discharge measurements made at sites along selected reaches of South Hālawa Stream, North Hālawa Stream, and Hālawa Stream, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi on December 28, 2021. These discrete discharge measurements form what is commonly referred to as a “seepage run.” The intent of the seepage run is to quantify the spatial distribution of streamflow along the reach during fair-weather, low-flow conditions, generally characterized by negligible direct runoff within the reach. The measurements can be used to characterize the net seepage of water into (water gain) or out of (water loss) the stream channel between measurement sites provided that the...

This dataset is the output of a python script/ArcGIS model that identifes dikes as having a difference in elevation above a certain threshold. If the elevation difference was below a certain threshold the area was not considered a dike; however, if the difference in elevation between two points was significantly high then the area was marked as a dike. Areas continuous with eachother were considered part of the same dike. Post processing occured. Users examined the data output, comparing the proposed dike locations to aerial imagery, flowline data, and the DEM. Dikes that appeared to be false positives were deleted from the data set.

IMPORTANT NOTE: More recent versions of these data release are available at this link. This dataset includes spatial locations where streamflow permanence observations (continuous flow, discontinuous flow, and dry) were recorded using the FLOwPER (FLOw PERmanence) field survey available in the Survey 123 and S1 mobile application. Additional information to describe the field conditions are included as part of the survey. Field observations in the FLOwPER Database have not been processed for quality control including spatial data accuracy or association with a stream network such as the National Hydrography Dataset. Streamflow permanence observations are collected from several governmental and non-governmental organizations...

These tabular data are summaries of land use/land cover related variables within catchments of the Chesapeake Bay watershed using the Xstrm methodology at 1:24,000 scale. Variables being counted as land use/land cover related contain all land use and land cover data including datasets that are split off or combined from those data (eg. agriculture or impervious classes only datasets). Outputs consist of tabular comma-separated values files (CSVs) for both the local catchment and network summaries linked to the National Hydrography Dataset Plus High-Resolution (NHDPlus HR) framework by NHDPlus ID. Local catchments are defined as the single catchment the data is summarized within. Network accumulation summaries were...

These data are bathymetry (river bottom elevation) in XYZ format (Easting, Northing, Elevation), generated from the July 24–25, 2023, and July 31, 2023, bathymetric survey of the Green River near Brownsville, Kentucky, from approximately 1.5 miles downstream from the Brownsville boat ramp to approximately 0.8 mile upstream from the former Green River Lock and Dam #6 site (3.8 miles total reach length). Hydrographic data were collected using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) with an integrated global navigation satellite system (GNSS) smart antenna. The ADCP and GNSS antenna were mounted on a marine survey vessel, and data were collected as the survey vessel traversed the river along planned survey lines....

The Ankeny, Iowa wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) was decommissioned in November 2013 providing a unique opportunity to characterize the impacts of WWTF discharge on water quality at the surface-water/groundwater interface in a shallow, unconfined alluvial aquifer. The Ankeny WWTF discharged treated effluent for nearly forty years into Fourmile Creek, located in Ankeny, Iowa. Dataset includes site information (Table 1), analytical methods (Table 2), piezometer water level elevations (Table 3), trace and major element concentrations collected from 2011 to 2013 before the WWTF shutdown (Table 4), and trace and major element concentration collected from 2013 to 2014 after the WWTF shutdown (Table 5).

This represents the flowline network in Western Lale Erie Restoration Assessment (WLERA). It is attributed with the number of disconnections between the reach and the connecting river system. These data will help identify the condition of hydrologic separation between potential restoration areas and the connecting river system. Low numbers represent fewer disconnections such as culverts between the reach and the rivers requiring no flow network modification to restore the area.

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), has constructed a new spatially distributed Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System (PRMS) for the Merced River Basin (Koczot and others, 2021), which is a tributary of the San Joaquin River in California. PRMS is a deterministic, distributed-parameter, physical-process-based modeling system developed to evaluate the response of streamflow and basin hydrology to various combinations of climate and land use (Markstrom and others, 2015). Although further refinement may be required to apply the Merced PRMS for official streamflow forecast operations, this application of PRMS is calibrated with intention to simulate (and...

The U.S. Geological Survey deployed eight submersible pressure transducers in the Arkansas River at Parkdale, Colorado on March 19, 2018. An additional transducer was left out of the water to correct for barometric pressure fluctuations. At the time of deployment and recovery, the coordinates of the top of the post to which the transducer was secured were surveyed with real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System surveying equipment. Also at the time of deployment and recovery, the offset between the location on the transducer that records stage and the top of the post to which the transducer was secured was measured with an engineering ruler. The transducers collected a depth measurement every 1-min until...
