This dataset includes magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in July 2019 in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Along with geologic mapping, airborne magnetics, airborne electromagnetics, and audiomagnetotellurics, the USGS collected MT data at 24 sites along five profiles ranging from 2 to 5 kilometers in length: across Red Mountain of the Silverton caldera, within the caldera in Eureka Graben, across the south-eastern margin of the caldera along Arrastra Gulch, across the southern margin of the caldera along the western margin of Kendall Mountain, and across the south-western margin of the caldera along South Fork...

Along with geologic mapping, airborne magnetics, airborne electromagnetics, and audiomagnetotellurics, the USGS collected MT data at 22 sites along four profiles ranging from 3 to 6 kilometers in length across the north-western structural margin of the Silverton caldera in Mineral Basin (MB01-MB05), across the south-eastern margin of the caldera along Cunningham Creek (CC01-CC05), within the caldera in Eureka Graben (EG01-EG05), and within the caldera along upper Cement Creek near the Gold King mine (GK01-GK09).

This text file (Reference_List_V1.txt) lists references that describe relevant characteristics for reservoir thermal energy storage (RTES) research in the United States. References are grouped by corresponding city, including: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; Decatur, Illinois; Lansing, Michigan; Memphis, Tennessee; Phoenix, Arizona; and Portland, Oregon. The document includes hyphenated lines and headers to distinguish city-specific subsections. Internet links are provided for each reference in the event that the reference was accessible online (as of January 28, 2021).

Old Faithful Geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park is one of the best studied geysers in the world. Under research permit YELL-SCI-8030, samples from 13 silicified tree remnants were collected adjacent to the Old Faithful Geyser cone in April and November 2019. The silicified wood samples were dated using the radiocarbon (14C) method and were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) to determine the extent of wood silicification. This study was conducted in order to provide new information on the geyser’s past decadal to centennial eruptive activity. Understanding Old Faithful’s past could provide a baseline for understanding future changes in its eruption intervals.

This data release provides geochemical results of in situ electron probe microanalyses of hydrothermal muscovite associated with gold-bearing quartz veins from the Klamath Mountains, California. Samples were collected from eight different mines in the summer of 2013 and electron probe microanalyses were carried out May 27, 2014 and November 12, 2019.
