Recent publicity surrounding induced seismicity at several geothermal and oil and gas sites points out the need to develop improved standards and practices to avoid issues that may unduly inhibit or stop the above technologies from fulfilling their full potential. Effects of climate change and wildfire on stream temperatures and salmonid thermal habitat in a mountain river network
Mountain streams provide important habitats for many species, but their faunas are especially vulnerable to climate change because of ectothermic physiologies and movements that are constrained to linear networks that are easily fragmented. Effectively conserving biodiversity in these systems requires accurate downscaling of climatic trends to local habitat conditions, but downscaling is difficult in complex terrains given diverse microclimates and mediation of stream heat budgets by local conditions. The paper version of the Geologic Map of the eastern part of the Challis National Forest and vicinity, Idaho was compiled by Anna Wilson and Betty Skipp in 1994. The geology was compiled on a 1:250,000 scale topographic base map. TechniGraphic System, Inc. of Fort Collins Colorado digitized this map under contract for N.Shock. G.Green edited and prepared the digital version for publication as a GIS database. The digital geologic map database can be queried in many ways to produce a variety of geologic maps.

The map layer was developed as part of the effort to produce the maps published at 1:2,500,000 in the printed series "Ground Water Atlas of the United States". This data set portrays election results, by counties for 49 States and by election districts for Alaska, for the 2004 Presidential general election. Reported for each county are the popular vote count for the Democratic Party candidate, the Republican Party candidate, and all other votes. Also reported are the percentage of the vote cast for each party’s candidate, based on the total number of valid votes cast. Over votes (ballots which contained votes for more than one candidate) and under votes (ballots which contained votes for no candidate) are not included in the total number of votes reported.
