This dataset represents soils of Wyoming at 1:100,000- scale. The layer contains 350 separate soils descriptions across 23 Wyoming counties. The layer was compiled based on the five-factor soil forming model using digital surficial geology, bedrock geology, and elevation. This dataset will be more fully documented in 23 AES publications scheduled for completion in winter of 99/00. These publications will use the designation AES Bulletin B-1071 followed by a two letter abreviation for each county.

Hydrographic features for Wyoming at 1:100,000-scale, including perennial and intermittent designations and Strahler stream order attributes for streams. Does not include man-made ditches, canals and aqueducts. The data was originally produced by USGS, a Digital Line Graph (DLG) product, though this product was enhanced (edgematched, some linework and attributes corrected, stream order attribute added). A subset of this dataset is also available for distribution, including only major streams (order 4 to 7) and major lakes and reservoirs. In order to reduce the size of this subset, the line segments were dissolved to remove unncessary segments.

This dataset, termed "GAGES II", an acronym for Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow, version II, provides geospatial data and classifications for 9,322 stream gages maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). It is an update to the original GAGES, which was published as a Data Paper on the journal Ecology's website (Falcone and others, 2010b) in 2010. Impervious surfaces such as paved roads, parking lots, and building roofs can affect the natural streamflow patterns and ecosystems of nearby streams. This data set summarizes the percent of impervious surface for subbasins in Massachusetts using a newly available statewide 1-m binary raster dataset of impervious surface for 2005. Subbasin boundaries include the entire upstream drainage area and are nested such that polygons for headwater basins and tributary streams will overlap with basin polygons delineated further downstream. This is one of three data layers in this data series publication.

These datasets consist of a workspace (folder) containing a collection of gridded datasets plus a personal geodatabase containing several vector datasets. These datasets are designed to be used with the ArcHydro Tools, developed by ESRI in partnership with the U.S. Geological Survey, StreamStats Development Team. The datasets, together with the ArcHydro Tools, allow users to delineate watersheds and compute several watershed characteristics. The datasets are distributed in folders named for the 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) each covers. The data structure is the same for each HUC.

U.S. and Canada Lakes represents the major lakes within the United States and Canada.This data set provides five feature classes for displaying the data at different scales. Everything about the feature classes is the same but the level of generalization and its name. The base feature class is called and isn't generalized. The least generalized feature class is called _1, the next more generalized feature class is called _2, and so on. For best performance, use the most appropriate feature class when displaying or printing.

The substrate enhancement pilot project (SEPP) extent GIS layer represents an area where an artificial substrate will be placed. The artificial substrate, consisting of a mixed size class of gravel, is aimed at providing a more suitable substrate for sturgeon eggs and early-life rearing habitat. The location of the SEPP extent was created by analyzing the egg-mat network, bathymetric features, surficial sediment facies, and streamflow characteristics. The egg-mat data represent points where sturgeon eggs were captured in previous years, indicating a preference of spawning location. A RESON SeaBat™ 7125 multibeam echosounder in conjunction with an Applanix Position Orientation Solution for Marine Vessels (POS MV™) WaveMaster system motion sensor, HYPACK®/HYSWEEP® navigation software, and Ashtech Z-Xtreme GPS receivers or Trimble R8 receivers was used to survey the Missouri River bed at 15 pipeline crossings at four different locations, at three power plant locations, and at one transmission tower during the 2011 flood event. The entire population of the Wood River Valley depends on ground water for domestic supply, either from domestic or municipal-supply wells, rapid population growth since the 1970s has raised concerns about the continued availability of ground and surface water to support existing uses and streamflow. Digital hydrogeologic surface of the Lower Claiborne Confining Unit in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi. The hydrogeologic unit dataset contains 414 rows and 394 columns representing 1-mile grid spacing. In general, limitations of data interpolation included areas of sparse geophysical log control points, log datums not clearly defined for some logs, unknown exact extent of each hydrogeologic unit in subcrop, interpolation limitations, and values averaged over 1-mile grid spacing.

A natural consequence of groundwater withdrawals is the removal of water from subsurface storage, but the overall rates and magnitude of groundwater depletion in the United States are not well characterized. This study evaluates long-term cumulative depletion volumes in 40 separate aquifers or areas and one land use category in the United States, bringing together information from the literature and from new analyses. Hunter Creek is an unregulated system that drains 115 square kilometers of southwestern Oregon before flowing into the Pacific Ocean south of the town of Gold Beach, Oregon. In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Geological Survey completed a reconnaissance-level assessment of channel condition and bed-material transport relevant to the permitting of in-stream gravel extraction in the lower 12.4 kilometers Hunter Creek.
