![]() This map layer consists of federally owned or administered lands of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. For the most part, only areas of 320 acres or more are included; some smaller areas deemed to be important or significant are also included. There may be private inholdings within the boundaries of Federal lands in this map layer. Some established Federal lands which are larger than 320 acres are not included in this map layer, because their boundaries were not available from the owning or administering agency.
Protected areas are cornerstones of national and international conservation strategies. By way of these designations, lands and waters are set-aside in-perpetuity to preserve functioning natural ecosystems, act as refuges for species, and maintain ecological processes. Complementary conservation strategies preserve land for the sustainable use of natural resources, or for the protection of significant geologic and cultural features or open space. PAD-US 1.1 (CBI Edition) attempts to include all available spatial data on these places. It is our goal to publish the most comprehensive geospatial data set of U. S. protected areas to date. PAD-US 1.1 (CBI Edition) is limited to the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii....

The data set associated with this metadata is included in three separate csv files: 'Occupancy_Data', 'Stage_Raw', and 'Flood_Stage_Height'. 'Occupancy_Data' was used to fit the dynamic occupancy models and includes 17 columns: Time: time periods numbered 1 to 5; 'Oxbow': individual oxbows numbered 1 through 10; 'OxbowName': the name of each oxbow; 'Species': species encountered during sampling, numbered 1 to 16; 'SpeciesName': common and scientific names for each species; 'Occ1', 'Occ2', 'Occ3': detection (1) and non-detection data for each Time, Oxbow, Species combination across 3 survey occasions (NAs represent surveys that did not occur); Binary-coded life history characteristics (traits) for each species:...

This map shows DOD (military) sites, installations, ranges, and training areas in the U.S. and its Territories. It also shows past, current, and future study areas related to the Twenty-Nine Palms Training Land/Airspace Acquisition Project. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User's intended use. This data set contains polygons of urban development and roads within US DOD military installations in the ecoregion. Urban developed areas and roads were extracted from the 2006 NLCD, vectorized, and intersected with DOD military installation polygons. Attribute fields associated with the original DOD data layer were retained as-is.

The dataset depicts the authoritative boundaries of the most commonly known Department of Defense (DoD) sites, installations, ranges, and training areas in the United States and Territories. These sites encompass land which is federally owned or otherwise managed. This dataset was created from source data provided by the four Military Service Component headquarters and was compiled by the Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure (DISDI) Program within the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment, Business Enterprise Integration Directorate. Sites were selected from the 2009 Base Structure Report (BSR), a summary of the DoD Real Property Inventory. This list does not...
The Utah Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) provides a wide range of Geographic Information System (GIS) support to the State of Utah. AGRC strives to facilitate coordination among Utah GIS users and effective, efficient use of GIS resources. Other services include stewardship of the State Geographic Information Database (SGID), facilitation of programs and activities to implement GIS technology across the state, and coordination of GIS policy development and implementation activities.

The Alaska Data Integration Working Group (ADIwg) Metadata Toolkit is an open source, suite of web applications for authoring and editing metadata for both spatial and non-spatial projects and datasets. The main goal of the toolkit is to promote the creation and use of metadata by lowering the level of technical expertise required to produce archival quality metadata.mdJSON is the metadata format ties the suite of tools together. The mdEditor is an open source client-side web application design to allow users to manage metadata for projects and data products. The mdEditor may be used to create mdJSON and interface with the mdTranslator to output metadata in multiple standards, including ISO 19115-2, 19115-1, 19110,...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This map layer contains the shallowest principal aquifers of the conterminous United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, portrayed as polygons. The map layer was developed as part of the effort to produce the maps published at 1:2,500,000 in the printed series "Ground Water Atlas of the United States". The published maps contain base and cultural features not included in these data. This is a replacement for...
The American goshawk (Accipiter atricapillus) is the largest member of the Accipiter genus in Alaska. While limited information exists for goshawks in Boreal Forests, it is thought to prefer mixed stands of coniferous and deciduous trees for nesting and a wide variety of vegetation types for hunting. As a forest species, goshawks are likely found within many of the forest areas adjacent to airfields and landing zones on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER). As a large-bodied raptor, goshawk are known to exhibit high aircraft strike hazard similar to other large raptors (e.g., bald eagle [Haliaeetus leucocephalus] and red-tailed hawk [Buteo jamaicensis]). Currently, there is little known about goshawk distribution,...
