Version 10.0 of these data are part of a larger U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) project to develop an updated geospatial database of mines, mineral deposits, and mineral regions in the United States. Mine and prospect-related symbols, such as those used to represent prospect pits, mines, adits, dumps, tailings, etc., hereafter referred to as “mine” symbols or features, have been digitized from the 7.5-minute (1:24,000, 1:25,000-scale; and 1:10,000, 1:20,000 and 1:30,000-scale in Puerto Rico only) and the 15-minute (1:48,000 and 1:62,500-scale; 1:63,360-scale in Alaska only) archive of the USGS Historical Topographic Map Collection (HTMC), or acquired from available databases (California and Nevada, 1:24,000-scale...

This data release contains drainage basin characteristics and low-streamflow trend results for 2,482 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in the conterminous U.S. Data include streamgage identification number, name, drainage area, latitude, longitude, percent developed land use, percent crop land use, dam storage, streamgage classification, record completeness status, and trend slopes and significance for several low-streamflow and related metrics. Also included is an R script containing the Mann-Kendall trend test for three different null hypotheses of the serial structure of the time-series data: independence, short-term persistence, and long-term persistence.
This dataset consists of 262 variables which describe various known and suspected point and non-point sources of contaminants and endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Contaminant data was summarized to the NHDPlus Version 2.1 catchment level (1:100K). Contaminant data summarized span a time range of 2001 to 2016 and include regulated facilities, pesticides, manure and biosolids application data, mercury deposition, animal feeding applications, septic systems, landfills, and land use and land cover. These data are presented in a comma separated file, which includes all variables summarized and the NHDPlus Version 2.1 FEATUREID field (also known as COMID). The FEATUREID field...

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) - Science Analytics and Synthesis (SAS) - Gap Analysis Project (GAP) manages the Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US), an Arc10x geodatabase, that includes a full inventory of areas dedicated to the preservation of biological diversity and to other natural, recreation, historic, and cultural uses, managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. The PAD-US is developed in partnership with many organizations, including coordination groups at the [U.S.] Federal level, lead organizations for each State, and a number of national and other non-governmental organizations whose work is closely related to the PAD-US. This data release contains drainage basin characteristics and peak-streamflow trend and change-point results for 2,683 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in the conterminous U.S. Data include streamgage identification number, name, drainage area, latitude, longitude, percent urban land use, dam storage, streamgage classification, record completeness status, lag-1 autocorrelation, trend slopes and significance, peaks-over-threshold counts, trends in the numbers of peaks-over-threshold, and change point years and values for median and scale. Also included is an R script containing the Mann-Kendall trend test for three different null hypotheses of the serial structure of the time-series data: independence, short-term...

This dataset contains information on the degree of potential human influence near 2228 groundwater wells in the U.S. glacial aquifer system. Data include well identification number, name, latitude, longitude, potential-human-influence category, percent urban and crop land use in a 500 meter radius around each well, and measures of county-based groundwater use and irrigation. Ancillary information includes nearest appropriate streamflow gaging stations and meteorological stations, and also climate division for each well.

This dataset describes land cover and vegetation for the island of Maui, Hawaii, 2017, hereinafter the 2017 land-cover map. The 2017 land-cover map is a modified version of the 2010 land-cover map included in the geospatial dataset titled "Mean annual water-budget components for the Island of Maui, Hawaii, for average climate conditions, 1978-2007 rainfall and 2010 land cover (version 2.0)" by Johnson (2017). The 2010 land-cover map was generated by intersecting (merging) multiple spatial datasets that characterize the spatial distribution of rainfall, cloud-water (or fog) interception, irrigation, reference evapotranspiration, direct runoff, soil type, and land cover. Land-cover designations in the 2010 land-cover...
