The Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus) habitat suitability surface for Crawford satellite population represented here reflects summer season at a landscape scale context (window extents [radius] of 1 km, 3 km, and 6.4 km). Habitat suitability estimated for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service critical habitat extent (southwestern Colorado). We developed habitat selection models for Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus), a threatened species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. We followed a management-centric modeling approach that sought to balance the need to evaluate the consistency of key habitat conditions and improvement actions across multiple, distinct populations, while allowing context-specific...

Coastal wetlands store more carbon than most ecosystems globally. However, little is known about the mechanisms that control the loss of organic matter in coastal wetlands at the landscape scale, and how sea-level rise will impact this important ecological function.

The dataset describes rangeland monitoring results from the Hanksville, UT (USA) area. Monitoring results consist of canopy cover of plant species and functional types according to ecological site group from 1967 to 2013. The study area is bordered on the north by the Wayne-Emery County line, on the west by Capitol Reef National Park, and on the south and east by the Colorado River, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and Canyonlands National Park. Cover was estimated every 1 to 5 years (except the last measurement that had a 12 year interval) from 1967 to 2013 at 36 permanently marked sites in 15 livestock grazing allotments/pastures. Canopy cover of perennial plant species was estimated to the nearest tenth...
The Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus) habitat suitability surface for Poncha Pass satellite population represented here reflects summer season at a landscape scale context (window extents [radius] of 1 km, 3 km, and 6.4 km). Habitat suitability estimated for Colorado Parks and Wildlife critical habitat extent (southwestern Colorado). We developed habitat selection models for Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus), a threatened species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Above- and belowground production in coastal wetlands are important contributors to carbon accumulation and ecosystem sustainability. As sea level rises, we can expect shifts to more salt-tolerant communities, which may alter these ecosystem functions and services. Although the direct influence of salinity on species-level primary production has been documented, we lack an understanding of the landscape-level response of coastal wetlands to increasing salinity. What are the indirect effects of sea-level rise, i.e. how does primary production vary across a landscape gradient of increasing salinity that incorporates changes in wetland type? We measured above- and belowground production in four wetland types that span...

The Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus) habitat suitability surface for San Miguel satellite population represented here reflects summer season at a landscape scale context (window extents [radius] of 1 km, 3 km, and 6.4 km). Habitat suitability estimated for Colorado Parks and Wildlife critical habitat extent (southwestern Colorado). The critical habitat defined by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is similar to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service critical habitat, but due to a lack of mapped urban features, we did not extrapolate models beyond the CPW boundary. We developed habitat selection models for Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus), a threatened species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act....

The Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus) habitat suitability surface for Cerro Summit-Cimarron-Sims satellite population represented here reflects breeding season at a landscape scale context (window extents [radius] of 1 km, 3 km, and 6.4 km). Habitat suitability estimated for Colorado Parks and Wildlife critical habitat extent (southwestern Colorado). This population did not have sufficient use locations to model habitat, and therefore, we extrapolated the Crawford population (nearest and considered most similar to Cerro Summit-Cimarron-Sims habitat) models to this location. However, roads were not digitized for the Cerro Summit-Cimarron-Sims population, so we selected the top model from Crawford that did...
