This dataset depicts areas of vegetation change between 2000 and 2005 in the Northern Sierras of California. This dataset was derived from change detection analysis using Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery, processed to determine vegetation increases, decreases, and land use change. Polygons were extracted from this analysis, and attributed to change class, cause, and year of disturbance, if possible. Cause of change was assigned using current fire perimeter, fire severity, USFS harvest/plantation data (FACTS) and timber harvest plans.
