This data release provides descriptions of more than 120 mineral regions, mines, and mineral deposits within the United States that are reported to contain enrichments of tin (Sn). This data release only includes sites with publicly available records of past production of tin, or a defined resource of tin, or both. The inclusion of a particular mineral deposit in this database is not meant to imply that it has economic potential; it may be produced only as a byproduct at some sites. Rather, these deposits were included to capture the distribution of characteristics of the known, reported tin deposits in the United States. This dataset includes locations and associated information about mines and mining activity in the contiguous United States. The database was developed by combining publicly available national datasets of mineral mines, uranium mines, and minor and major coal mine activities. This database was developed in 2013, but temporal range of mine data varied dependent on source. Uranium mine information came from the TENORM Uranium Location Database produced by the US Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) in 2003. Major and minor coal mine information was from the USTRAT (Stratigraphic data related to coal) database 2012, and the mineral mine data came from the USGS Mineral Resource Program.

Weighted Regressions on Time, Discharge and Season (WRTDS) models were developed for total and dissolved cadmium, lead and zinc; total phosphorus and nitrogen; and dissolved orthophosphate at twelve sites in the Spokane River watershed for water years 1990 to 2018. Bootstrapped model replicates were run to determine the statistical likelihoods of trends in flow-normalized concentrations and loads over the period of record and water years 2009-2018 for each constituent at each site. The data table contains the change in concentrations and loads and the numeric and descriptive statistical likelihoods associated with the trends over the two time periods for each constituent and site.
