This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over an area of southeast Missouri and western Illinois. The survey represents the first airborne geophysical survey conducted as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (Earth MRI) effort (Day, 2019). Earth MRI is a cooperative effort between the USGS, the Association of American State Geologists, and other Federal, State, and private sector organizations to improve our knowledge of the geologic framework of the United States. Data for this survey were collected by Terraquest, Ltd. under contract with the USGS using a fixed wing aircraft with magnetometers...

The Denver fossil algae database were gathered from the inception of Denver Region in 1953 by Richard Rezak. His specialty was algae, carbonate platforms, and off-shore modern reefs. He developed a very useful litho-stratigraphic tool while studying Proterozoic algae and stromatolites in Glacier National Park. This lead to his studies of modern analogs in the Caribbean and South Seas. His catalogs were converted into digital form, Excel and Filemaker Pro database. The Catalog consist of 1001 fossil localities. His supplementary data has been added whenever possible - sources field map locality points, E&R files with enhanced faunal lists, as well as formal publications

This dataset contains the percent change in means (over 20-year periods) of annual climate change metrics calculated from the climate change inputs and the hydrology outputs from the HAWQS/SWAT model. The metrics are fifteen climate change indicators evenly divided into three categories: temperature, precipitation, and hydrology that were selected by resource managers working in Region 3 of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. The projected percent change in each of these indicators from the baseline period (1986-2005) to the future period (2040-2059) in provided at the HUC-8 scale for USFWS Region 3 (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin). These indicators were used...
Three sets of standardized land cover/use data exist (1989, 2000, and 2010) for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) through the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR) program. These data provide the opportunity to detect planform change for two time periods: 1989-2000 and 2000-2010. This dataset identifies specific types of changes and addresses errors from potential sources in the overlay. Four of the change types will be reported on, while the others change types were retained in the derived data.

Lifespan of salt marshes in New York are calculated using conceptual marsh units defined by Defne and Ganju (2018) and Welk and others (2019, 2020a, 2020b, 2020c). The lifespan calculation is based on estimated sediment supply and sea-level rise (SLR) predictions after Ganju and others (2020). Sea level predictions are local estimates which correspond to the 0.3, 0.5, and 1.0 meter increase in Global Mean Sea Level (GMSL) scenarios by 2100 from Sweet and others (2022). The U.S. Geological Survey has been expanding national assessment of coastal change hazards and forecast products to coastal wetlands with the intent of providing Federal, State, and local managers with tools to estimate the vulnerability and ecosystem...
Borehole geophysical logs were collected to characterize bedrock aquifers at three contamination sites located in California, Wisconsin, and New Jersey. The data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the University of Guelph from 2014 to 2015 as part of the U.S. Department of Defense Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) initiatives to apply geophysical methods at fractured-rock sites contaminated with chlorinated solvents. Logs were collected in open boreholes completed in fractured rock. Each borehole was logged with natural gamma, electromagnetic induction, normal resistivity, single-point resistance,...
This product depicts the spatial coverage of seagrass beds from 0.5-m color-infrared orthoimagery for Cat Island and Ship Island, Mississippi from early fall of 2011. Specifically, the map includes presence and absence of seagrass beds within a potential seagrass extent that was based on topobathymetric data. A minimum mapping unit of 4 square meters was used for this mapping effort.

Macroclimatic drivers, such as temperature and rainfall regimes, greatly influence ecosystem structure and function in tidal saline wetlands. Understanding the ecological influence of macroclimatic drivers is important because it provides a foundation for anticipating the effects of climate change. Tidal saline wetlands include mangrove forests, salt marshes, and salt flats, which occupy similar geomorphic settings but different climatic regimes. However, most global- or regional-scale analyses have treated these wetlands as independent systems. Here we used climate and literature-derived ecological data from all three systems, collected across targeted regional-scale macroclimatic gradients, to test hypotheses...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center, in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, updated basin-characteristic data for Oklahoma streams with drainage areas of less than 2,510 square miles. Basin characteristics were updated or created for 248 streamgages. The previously published Oklahoma generalized skew map, a necessary element in the development of the peak-streamflow frequencies was updated. Compared to a previous dataset described in (Lewis, 2010), this dataset incorporates an additional 9 years of annual peak-streamflow data, including 2 years when major peak-streamflows were recorded (2015 and 2017). The additional years of data collection since the publication...
