The Global Human Footprint Dataset of the Last of the Wild Project, Version 2, 2005 (LWP-2) is the Human Influence Index (HII) normalized by biome and realm. The HII is a global dataset of 1-kilometer grid cells, created from nine global data layers covering human population pressure (population density), human land use and infrastructure (built-up areas, nighttime lights, land use/land cover), and human access (coastlines, roads, railroads, navigable rivers). This is the first of two datasets containing derived data necessary to reproduce the results of the associated journal article: "On the Sensitivity of Annual Streamflow to Air Temperature." This first dataset contains basic basin characteristics of 2,673 gaged basins worldwide, along with associated monthly time series of basin-mean precipitation, air temperature, and net radiation. The streamflow data themselves are available directly from the Global Runoff Data Centre. This dataset is an extract from the GlobCover 2009 land cover map, covering Australia and New Zealand. The GlobCover 2009 land cover map is derived by an automatic and regionally-tuned classification of a time series of global MERIS (MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) FR mosaics for the year 2009. The global land cover map counts 22 land cover classes defined with the United Nations (UN) Land Cover Classification System (LCCS). For more information on the GlobCover project, see http://ionia1.esrin.esa.int/ Note on display: class 210: Water Bodies is set to "transparent" to improve display in the Data Basin map. Within the extract's extent, no data were removed from the original dataset.

This coverage includes arcs, polygons, and polygon labels that describe the generalized geologic age and type of surface outcrops of bedrock of Southeast Asia (Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands and Vietnam; and portions of Australia, China and Taiwan). This is the second of two datasets containing derived data necessary to reproduce the results of the associated journal article: "On the Sensitivity of Annual Streamflow to Air Temperature," intended for publication in Water Resources Research. The first dataset contains monthly time series of basin-mean precipitation, air temperature, and net radiation, along with basin characteristics. This second dataset, using the first as input, contains empirical and theoretical estimates of annual streamflow sensitivities to precipitation, temperature, and previous-year streamflow.
