This digital dataset is comprised of two separate data files that contain total dissolved solids, well construction, and well identifying information for 1,131 petroleum wells used to map salinity in and around 31 southern and central California oil fields. Salinity mapping was done for 27 fields located in the southern San Joaquin Valley of Kern County (North Belridge, South Belridge, Canfield Ranch, North Coles Levee, South Coles Levee, Cymric, Edison, Elk Hills, Fruitvale, Greeley, Jasmin, Kern Bluff, Kern Front, Kern River, Lost Hills, Mount Poso, Mountain View, Poso Creek, Rio Bravo, Rosedale, Rosedale Ranch, Round Mountain, San Emidio Nose, Tejon, Ten Section, Wheeler Ridge, and Yowlumne), 3 fields in the...

The COGCC_Fields layer represents the approximate boundaries of oil and gas fields in Colorado. These field boundaries are defined by producing and/or plugged and abandoned wells within the field. The appropriate field designation for each well is decided on a well by well basis by COGCC staff. The COGCC_Fields polygons are updated on a periodic basis using an ArcGIS model that reads the field codes from the COGIS database for each well, groups the wells by field code, and creates a series of buffers around the grouped wells. The primary completed formations (up to 12 formations) have been added as attributes. These formations are ordered by the number of wells completed, with formation1 representing the formation...

This digital dataset contains historical geochemical and other information for 100 samples of groundwater from 71 wells located within 3 miles of the Poso Creek Oil Field in Kern County, California. An additional 12 wells in the Poso Creek study area, but co-located within 3 miles of the adjacent Rosedale and Rosedale Ranch Oil Fields, were not included in this data release; these data are planned for a future data release associated with those fields. The sampled wells include water-supply wells used primarily for domestic, irrigation, and industrial uses. Numerical water chemistry data were compiled from two data sources: 1) Kern County Public Health Services Department (KCPHSD) PDF (Portable Document Format)...
Advanced Research Workshop on “Challenges in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Regulation of the Nuclear Legacy” organised jointly by Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA) and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia (FMBA) was held at “Ershovo” (Zvenigorod) in Moscow, Russia, 25–27 September 2007 with participants from international organisations like NATO, IAEA, ICRP and several countries Norway, Russia, United States, France, United Kingdom, Sweden and Kyrgyzstan. The workshop was sponsored by the NATO Programme Security Through Science and Norwegian Radiation protection Authority. The sponsorship and the financial support of NATO is gratefully acknowledged. The workshop was organized in...
The paper suggests the ‘middle out’ as an additional, and sometimes alternative approach to ’bottom-up’ and ’ top-down’ efforts to drive low carbon innovations and practices in society. Individuals are often seen by policy makers as the target agents for changing their own behaviour. To induce bottom-up change in energy demand patterns, governmental and non-governmental organizations have produced information tools such as carbon calculators, real-time feedback, and media based campaigns encourage individuals to reduce their carbon emissions voluntarily. At the same time, government employs top-down regulatory approaches to reduce emissions. These are being demonstrated in the introduction of market mechanisms (e.g....

This digital dataset is comprised of three separate data files that contain total dissolved solids, well construction, and well identifying information for 3,546 water wells used to map salinity in and around 31 southern and central California oil fields. Salinity mapping was done for 27 fields located in the southern San Joaquin Valley of Kern County (North Belridge, South Belridge, Canfield Ranch, North Coles Levee, South Coles Levee, Cymric, Edison, Elk Hills, Fruitvale, Greely, Jasmin, Kern Bluff, Kern Front, Kern River, Lost Hills, Mount Poso, Mountain View, Poso Creek, Rio Bravo, Rosedale, Rosedale Ranch, Round Mountain, San Emidio Nose, Tejon, Ten Section, Wheeler Ridge, and Yowlumne), 3 fields in the LA...

This digital dataset contains historical geochemical and other information for 45 samples of produced water from 38 sites in the Placerita and Newhall Oil Fields in Los Angeles County, southern California. Produced water is a term used in the oil industry to describe water that is produced from oil wells as a byproduct along with the oil and gas. The locations from which these historical samples have been collected include 17 wells, 6 storage tanks, and 15 unidentifiable sample sources. Well depth, perforation depths, and (or) depths referred to on geochemistry reports as interval of zone produced, are available for all 17 wells. Designated well use and sample descriptions provide further insight about what the...

This digital dataset contains historical geochemical and other information for 89 samples of produced water from 84 sites in the Santa Maria Valley Oil Field in Santa Barbara County, California. Produced water is a term used in the oil industry to describe water that is produced from oil wells as a byproduct along with the oil and gas. Additionally, 3 samples from 3 sites that represent source water used in support of oil production were included in this dataset, for a total of 92 samples and 87 sites, respectively. The locations from which these historical samples have been collected include 27 wells, 2 reservoirs, 10 storage tanks, and 49 unidentifiable sample sources. Well depth, perforation depths, and (or)...

This dataset represents the producing, dry holes, wildcat wells and wells that have other well type categories other than the ones mentioned previously in Louisiana. These wells were used to create gas and oil field polygons. The field polygons include discovery data, number of producing wells in the field, average measured depth of those well, total gas and oil production from 1977-2014, gas oil ratio (GOR), and field type. Also, included is a table with historic gas and oil production from 1977-2014.

This digital dataset contains geochemical and other information for 1,209 samples of groundwater from 343 wells located within 3-miles of the Buena Vista, Elk Hills, Midway-Sunset, and North and South Coles Levee oil fields in the southwestern San Joaquin Valley of central California. Data were compiled by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from preexisting datasets and transferred manually into two separate data files described as follows: 1) a summary data file identifying each well, it's location, basic well construction, the number of chemistry samples and period of record, and data sources; and 2) a data file of geochemistry analyses for selected water-quality indicators, major and minor ions, nutrients, and...

This digital dataset contains historical geochemical and other information for 580 samples of groundwater from 12 wells located within the Placerita and Newhall Oil Fields in Los Angeles County, southern California. The sampled wells include 5 monitoring wells (Dataset IDs 1-5) associated with a groundwater remediation site, 6 water-supply wells (Dataset IDs 6-11) used to supply groundwater in support of oil production, and 1 well (Dataset ID 12) constructed as an observation well to monitor water-disposal operations. The groundwater remediation site wells represent a subset of a much larger number of monitoring wells that were selected for inclusion in this dataset because they were perforated within the regional...

The geology data set for this map includes arcs, polygons, and labels that outline and describe the general geologic age and type of bedrock of Iran. The geologic provinces data set includes arcs, polygons, and labels of geologic and petroleum provinces interpreted and designated by R.M. Pollastro from a number of literature and map resources to assist in the assessment of oil and gas resources for the USGS World Energy Project. The oil and gas field centerpoints data set is a point coverage that marks the approximate centerpoints of oil and gas fields in Iran. Political boundaries are provided to show the general location of country and/or other reference 'political' boundaries.
