This map shows the potential current distribution of Peregrine Falcon, in the context of current and near-term terrestrial intactness and long-term potential for climate change and energy development.
The Commission on Environmental Cooperation, in concert with a trinational group of experts, has identified North American species of common conservation concern (SCCC). These terrestrial and marine species comprise a group of important migratory, transboundary and endemic species selected from among the continent’s great wealth of wild flora and fauna, which require regional cooperation for their effective conservation.

Documented occurrences for peregrine falcon, gyrfalcon, and rough-legged hawk. Current distribution of raptor concentration areas. Changes in mean summer (June, July, and August) temperature (2010s to 2060s) within the modeled raptor concentration area. Length of growing season at current, near-term future (2020s), and long-term future (2060s) time intervals within the modeled raptor concentration. Spring precipitation (March, April, and May) in mm within the modeled distribution of raptor concentration areas. Current, 2040 medium-development scenario, and 2040 high-development scenario landscape condition within the current raptor concentration areas in the North Slope study area. These data are provided by Bureau...
We addressed a United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) commitment to undertake hydrogen isotopic analyses of feathers (“Stable hydrogen isotope ratios from feathers”) collected from falconer-harvested passage peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus) by: (1) developing a map using feathers collected from falcons of known origin, (2) linking falconer-harvested passage peregrines to natal origin, and (3) estimating the degree to which the predicted make-up of the harvest in the USFWS Final Environmental Assessment (EA) was correct (i.e., greater than 64 percent of peregrines originated from high latitudes). The USFWS coordinated the collection of 125 feathers in the United States from known-origin nestlings and...

This map contains:Terrestrial Intactness results for the State of Utah and the Colorado Plateau Ecoregion, 1 km resolution.Terrestrial Species Intactness results clipped to 15 different species' distributions, showing the TI status/condition for each species of interest in the COP.These datasets provide an estimate of current terrestrial intactness (i.e. condition) based on the extent to which human impacts such as agriculture, urban development, natural resource extraction, and invasive species have disrupted the landscape across the State of Utah and the Colorado Plateau Ecoregion. Terrestrial intactness values will be high in areas where these impacts are low.Documentation of model structure and input data and...
