This assessment raster is used to answer management questions (MQs) about where the Bighorn Sheep conservation element (CE) overlap with change agents (CAs). This is a basic footprint assessment of anthropogenic features (urban development, roads, etc). It does not model actual response of the CEs to the CAs; those more complex issues are addressed in different MQs and through different models. Areas for restoration/enhancement were indentified base upon the 3 quartile values (50>LC2025

This map shows the seven ecoregions included in the CYR study area. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User's intended use. These data may not have the accuracy, resolution, completeness, timeliness, or other characteristics appropriate for applications that potential users of the data may contemplate. The User is encouraged to carefully consider the content of the metadata file associated with these data. The BLM should be cited as the data source in any products derived from these data.

Protected areas were used to determine the amount of human disturbance within the analysis unit for Columbia spotted frog modeled habitat. GAP status 1 and 2 areas were extracted from the USGS protected areas database and used within zonal statistics to determine the amount of the analysis unit within protected areas.> 60 % = good25-60% = moderate

This data set is a complete digital hydrologic unit boundary layer to the Subwatershed (12-digit) 6th level for the entire United States. This data set consists of geo-referenced digital data and associated attributes created in accordance with the "FGDC Proposal, Version 1.0 - Federal Standards For Delineation of Hydrologic Unit Boundaries 3/01/02"(http://www.ftw.nrcs.usda.gov/huc_data.html). Polygons are attributed with hydrologic unit codes for 4th level sub-basins, 5th level watersheds, 6th level subwatersheds, name, size, downstream hydrologic unit, type of watershed, non-contributing areas and flow modification. Arcs are attributed with the highest hydrologic unit code for each watershed, linesource and a...

This data set represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully...

The Land Treatment Digital Library (LTDL) is a database that incorporates tabular data, documents, photos, and GIS data. The allProjectsPoly dataset contains the project level polygon perimeters. All efforts are made to ensure that the data are as accurate as possible. However, no guarantee can be made that all data are correct and represent the actual location of the project or treatment.

Feature level Dataset for the BLM Administrative Unit Boundaries Data Standard. This feature dataset includes both BLM administrative land areas and office locations. Land areas are depicted with polygons for the smallest administrative unit (field offices). Larger administrative units, such as district offices, and administrative states may be derived from these polygons. Office locations at each level are depicted with points. This dataset is a subset of the official national dataset, containing features and attributes intended for public release and has been optimized for online map service performance. The Implementation Guide represents the official national dataset from which this dataset was derived.

This polygon feature class represents the spatial extent and boundaries for existing BLM Land Use Planning Area (LUPA) polygons. Land Use Planning Areas are geographic areas within which the BLM will make decisions during a land use planning effort. Land Use Planning Area Boundaries shift from an "in-progress" status and become Existing Land Use Planning Areas when the Land Use Plan has been approvided and a Record of Decision Date has been established. At this point, these LUPAs are officially "existing". This dataset is a subset of the official national dataset, containing features and attributes intended for public release and has been optimized for online map service performance. The Implementation Guide represents...

Prioritization for protection of habitat (via acquisition or easements), based on local scale ecological integrity, degree of threats faced, potential conservation opportunities, and conservation value of surrounding landscape. In contrast to ecological integrity ratings; threat, opportunity and landscape rankings are largely based on the range of values of any given indicator across the geography, sorted by quantile. There are some exceptions, particularly for indicators used to develop threat rankings (e.g., urban development risk). EEMS is a tree-based, fuzzy logic modeling system, where output values range from -1 to +1, indicating whether a given output is entirely FALSE or TRUE, respectively. Indicators with...

On April 13, 2015, the Great Basin LCC hosted a webinar about new Sage-Grouse conservation data presented by the National Wetlands Inventory.Nevada’s wetlands are important havens for local wildlife. Past and current changes in climate and land use practices have stressed many sensitive wetland systems across Nevada, putting the wildlife they support at risk. For greater sage-grouse, wetlands also play an important role in providing brood rearing habitat. This project is mapping areas of high priority sage grouse habitat in Nevada and will move towards mapping areas of other wetlands in future years with additional funding. Mapping of other important landscapes such as upland riparian habitat are also part of this...
This presentation is part of the Decision Support Tools for Natural Resource Managers in Sagebrush Communities and Across the Pacific Northwest Workshop Series, funded by the Great Basin Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC). Mike Gough with Conservation Biology Institute provides a rapid overview of the Sagebrush Climate Console. He demonstrates the new Nature’s Stage Climate Mapper. The objective of this session to show participants possible applications they can use in management decision-making.
There is increasing interest in climate change adaptation, yet many fish and wildlife field staff remain uncertain how to put adaptation into practice. Our goal with this project is to bridge the gap between high-level climate adaptation guidance and the field staff who carry out a specific regulatory process, Habitat Conservation Planning under Section 10 of the Endangered Species Act. Following best practices from the literature on linking science and management, we began with a focus on what people do and are bringing climate considerations into that practice. Phase I of the process involved exploring HCP practices in USFWS Region 8 (primarily CA and NV) and writing a Quick Guide for Climate Smart HCPs; a series...

This dataset was last updated February 2017. This version incorporates a revised version of the land cover classification, Terrestrial and Aquatic Habitat Map (DSLland), Version 3.1 developed by the University of Massachusetts, which included the addition of The Nature Conservancy’s Northeast lakes and ponds classification. The Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus) is a medium-sized brown grouse found in forests from Alaska to Georgia. It has been chosen to represent the habitat needs of other species of wildlife that also use mixed aged forests, including young forests. This dataset depicts the potential capability of the landscape throughout the Northeastern United States to provide habitat for Ruffed Grouse based on...

This bibliography is associated with a project identifying effective landowner engagement strategies and incentives to sustain ecosystem services (e.g., clean water, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, recreation, aesthetics) in the Southeastern United States through a focused case in three major habitat types (bottomland hardwoods, open pine stands, and grasslands) within the Gulf Coastal Plains and Ozarks region. A geospatial analysis was used to quantify program participation and expected costs for selected landowner engagement scenarios and program delivery options.
This project will address species-habitat relationships for a priority aquatic system for the GCPO LCC, Mainstem Big Rivers. Specifically, the project will collect subsurface aquatic habitat data using side-scan sonar and high resolution bathymetry data in the Pearl River system of Louisiana. This project expands on current work ongoing in the Pearl River, and would extend habitat data collection for the purposes of making recommendations on restoration of aquatic habitat for species endpoints in this aquatic system. This project directly addresses landscape conservation design and will be used to inform Adaptation Strategies.
