These data were compiled as part of a long-term (1964 - 2022) water quality monitoring program at Lake Powell. Objectives of our study were to release a consistent record of long-term water quality data. The 58-year limnology dataset captures some water quality parameters (temperature, salinity, major ions, total suspended solids) from reservoir filling to present day. It also contains a 38-year record of secchi depth, and a ~30-year record of nutrients, phytoplankton, and zooplankton assemblages. The data were collected from various sites within the Lake Powell reservoir and the Glen Canyon dam. Regular monthly sampling occurred at three sites near the dam and reservoir-wide sampling was generally conducted quarterly,...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides phytoplankton data collected from Cheney Reservoir, Kansas, during June 2001 through September 2020. All data are reported as raw calculated values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. This data release was produced in compliance with the open data requirements as a way to make scientific products associated with USGS research efforts and publications available to the public. The dataset includes all routine and quality assurance/quality control samples collected at the long-term sampling site on Cheney Reservoir located near the dam (USGS station identification number 07144790). Phytoplankton were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Academy, carried out bathymetry surveys to characterize the water-supply capacity of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1, 2, and 3; and Non-Potable reservoirs 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado in 2019. This data release includes: the elevation and volumes at specified elevations for each lake or reservoir, combined terrestrial and bathymetry real-time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) survey points, and digital elevation models (DEMs) of the lakes and reservoirs. Bathymetric data were collected between October 15, 2019, and December 12, 2019, using a man-operated, boat-mounted,...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides phytoplankton data collected from 18 Texas reservoirs during August through October, 2016. All data are reported as raw calculated values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. This data release was produced in compliance with the open data requirements as a way to make scientific products associated with USGS research efforts and publications available to the public. The dataset includes all routine and quality assurance/quality control samples collected at each of the sites. Phytoplankton were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level and abundance (density reported as both natural units and cells) and biovolume are reported.
