NHD medium resolution (1:100,000) flowlines downloaded from http://nhd.usgs.gov/data.html on 5/29/2013. Data were downloaded by subregion, merged, and then clipped to the DRECP study area by the Conservation Biology Institute. The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) is a feature-based database that interconnects and uniquely identifies the stream segments or reaches that make up the nation's surface water drainage system. NHD data was originally developed at 1:100,000-scale and exists at that scale for the whole country. This high-resolution NHD, generally developed at 1:24,000/1:12,000 scale, adds detail to the original 1:100,000-scale NHD. (Data for Alaska, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands was developed at high-resolution,...

Data were downloaded by subregion, merged, and then clipped to the DRECP study area by the Conservation Biology Institute. For display purposes, a definition query was put on FType=458 (Springs and Seeps). Compressional- (P-) wave seismic refraction data were acquired in December 2018 and July 2019 along fourteen profiles within the spillway of Success Dam in Porterville, California. A new concrete ogee weir is planned for construction within the existing spillway, and the P-wave seismic velocity models will be used to inform further geotechnical investigations, including siting new geologic borings, and the advanced engineering design phases in terms of rock rippability and relative rock hardness/competency. Data acquisition, processing, and modeling were conducted collaboratively between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sacramento District. Data were acquired with Geometrics...

The Middle Fork Willamette River basin encompasses 3,548 square kilometers of western Oregon and drains to the mainstem Willamette River. Fall Creek basin encompasses 653 square kilometers and drains to the Middle Fork Willamette River. In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Geological Survey evaluated geomorphic responses of downstream river corridors to annual drawdowns to streambed at Fall Creek Lake. This study of geomorphic change is focused on the major alluvial channel segments downstream of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ dams on Fall Creek and the Middle Fork Willamette River, as well as the 736 hectare Fall Creek Lake. Reservoir erosion during streambed drawdown results in sediment...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Academy, carried out bathymetry surveys to better characterize the 2019 water-supply capacity of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1, 2, and 3; and Non-Potable reservoirs 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. Survey points from bathymetry and terrestrial datasets were collected using real-time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) at each of the aforementioned lakes or reservoirs and merged in geographic information system software, ArcMap, to produce continuous topographic datasets with common horizontal and vertical datums (North American Datum [NAD] 83 and North American...
These data are high-resolution bathymetry (lake bottom elevation) in a gridded XYZ format, generated from hydrographic surveys of Morse and Geist Reservoirs in April and May of 2016. Hydrographic data were collected using a multibeam echo-sounder (MBES) with integrated inertial navigation solution (INS) mounted on a marine survey vessel. Data were collected as the vessel traversed the lake along survey lines distributed throughout the area. Data collection software integrated and stored the depth data from the multibeam sonar and the horizontal and vertical position and attitude data of the vessel from the INS in real time. In the shallow areas, additional data were collected with an acoustic Doppler current profiler...

The NHDPlus Version 1.0 is an integrated suite of application-ready geospatial data sets that incorporate many of the best features of the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) and the National Elevation Dataset (NED). The NHDPlus includes a stream network (based on the 1:100,000-scale NHD), improved networking, naming, and "value-added attributes" (VAA's). NHDPlus also includes elevation-derived catchments (drainage areas) produced using a drainage enforcement technique first broadly applied in New England, and thus dubbed "The New-England Method". This technique involves "burning-in" the 1:100,000-scale NHD and when available building "walls" using the national Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD). The resulting modified...
