This is a fifty-four second video which includes short segments compiled from video collected using GoPro cameras mounted on two individual loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) within St. Joseph Bay, Florida as part of a preliminary data release for U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) outreach publications. Approximately 90 minutes of video footage was collected per individual prior to retrieval. This is a continuing effort to document the interactions, movement, and feeding ecology of loggerhead turtles for future scientific publications.

This layer shows the most recent sea turtle nesting data for Loggerhead Sea Turtles in Florida. These data were evaluated as a potential Conservation Target, orbiological indicator, for the Coastal Uplands Priority Resource. Sea turtle nesting data does not provide a good biological indicator because they show a high degree of philopatry to nesting beaches. Input: The State of Florida, through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, coordinates the Statewide Nesting Beach Survey program (SNBS).
