This dataset includes hourly stream temperature data for 139 temperature logger sites throughout the Lahontan Basin Region of Northern Nevada and Eastern California. Data loggers were part a study beginning in 2017, with data available through 2019 for most locations. The spatial data layer contains site locations, geographic information, data summaries, mean August stream temperatures, and modeled NorWeST stream temperatures. The Wet-Dry delineation file contains daily flow status estimates derived from stream temperature data for each site. This dataset includes temperature and pressure data from 26 sites in the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest in western Oregon. Stream and Air data loggers were deployed in June of 2020 and downloaded in October 2020. The HJ_Andrews_Temperature file contains temperature data (in C°) by logger serial number, site, and usage for the study period. The HJ_Andrews_Pressure file contains pressure data (in kPa) by logger serial number, site, and usage for the study period. This GIS dataset is the primary data product produced for the NW Climate Science Center-funded project, "Rangewide climate vulnerability assessment for threatened Bull Trout" (FRESC Study ID 851). We used predictions of temperatures in streams across approximately two-thirds of the species' range in the U.S. to map coldwater streams or “patches” suitable for spawning and early rearing of Bull Trout. Each patch consists of streams with contiguous reaches of cold water. This project, with funding support by the North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative andpartners, will address the need to better understand the impact that climate change will have on oursalmon subsistence resources in southeast Alaska. Working with federal and state agencies, as well ascommunity-based organizations and tribal governments, this project will 1) build a network that supportslocal organizations in their efforts to collect stream temperature data, and 2) coordinate those efforts sothat the data will inform and empower management agencies, researchers, and communities to adapt tochanging conditions for fish in the freshwater stages of their lifecycles.

Climate change is expected to alter stream temperature and flow regimes over the coming decades, and in turn influence distributions of aquatic species in those freshwater ecosystems. To better anticipate these changes, there is a need to compile both short- and long-term stream temperature data for managers to gain an understanding of baseline conditions, historic trends, and future projections. This dataset includes georeferenced high-resolution, airborne thermal infrared (TIR) imagery, a polyline shapefile of the channel centerline, and a tabular file with longitudinal stream temperature profiles for Hat Creek, California. The two aerial TIR surveys were conducted with a helicopter by NV5 Geospatial (formerly Quantum Spatial, Inc.) and are published as two raster mosaics in GeoTiff format with a resolution of 0.5 m. The TIR mosaics and longitudinal stream temperature profiles contain corrected surface temperatures in degrees C (multiplied by 10 to create an unsigned integer pixel type). A “gateway” using Data Basin technology has been developed to serve the data integration, collaboration and outreach needs of the NPLCC. The gateway will continue to be a customized interface of the Data Basin platform that includes special branding, curation of spatial content, and direct links to selected sites in support of projects funded by and for the NPLCC . Conservation Biology Institute will add to the “gateway” a spatial data visualization tool to showcase priority data from the Pacific Marine and Estuarine Fish Habitat Partnership.

This data release and model archive provides all data, code, and modelling results used in Topp et al. (2023) to examine the influence of deep learning architecture on generalizability when predicting stream temperature in the Delaware River Basin (DRB). Briefly, we modeled stream temperature in the DRB using two spatially and temporally aware process guided deep learning models (a recurrent graph convolution network - RGCN, and a temporal convolution graph model - Graph WaveNet). This dataset includes stream temperature data from 34 sites in the Donner und Blitzen basin of SE Oregon. Data loggers were deployed in September of 2018 and downloaded each subsequent summer/fall through 2021.
