Over 300 samples were collected in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts from wastewater treatment facilities (20 locations), drinking water facilities (9 locations), streams (53 locations), lakes (2 locations), a bay (1 location), and a POCIS (Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler) blank sample between April 2009 and October 2018. This data release provides chemistry data for over 400 analytes, including pharmaceuticals, hormones, personal care and domestic use compounds, pesticides and other compounds using 10 different laboratory analytical methods on water, sediment, wastewater sludge, and POCIS samples. Quality assurance data, such as equipment and field blank data and percent recovery for isotopic dilution...

The surface water water-quality data were compiled from Water Quality Portal (https://www.waterqualitydata.us/) (National Water Quality Monitoring Council, 2015), USGS’s NAWQA Project’s data compilation (Oelsner and others, 2017) or the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology (Montana Bureau of Mines, 2021), The compilation contains data for chloride, pH, specific conductance, sulfate, total dissolved solids (TDS) collected between water year 1970 to 2014. In addition 10 metals (aluminum, arsenic, barium, chromium, copper, iron, lead, selenium strontium, and zinc) analyzed during water years 1993 through 2014. This U.S. Geological Survey Data Release provides surface-water and bed sediment quality data at the Bronx River, New York, 2019. The data were collected with support from the Urban Waters Federal Partnership (UWFP) and others. Surface-water samples were collected at six locations along the Bronx River and analyzed for poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. Water-quality field parameters such as pH, specific conductance dissolved oxygen, water temperature, and turbidity were measured during each site visit. Each surface-water site was sampled once under storm (wet) conditions and once under non-storm conditions (dry). 'Wet' samples indicate a precipitation event of 0.5 inch...
