A polygon dataset of current road footprints in the SNK REA derived from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources infrastructure data (see the process steps for details). (This data depicts infrastructure locations in Alaska as digitized primarily from 1:24,000, 1:63,360, and 1:250,000 USGS quadrangles. The source document that represented the newest information and best geographic location was used to capture the data. All infrastructure from the primary source document was digitized and then supplemented with the information from other source documents for additional or updated infrastructure or attributes.)

This dataset contains TIGER roads, electrical transmission lines, Integrated Climate and Land Use Scenarios (ICLUS), wind turbine, and oil and gas wells, Data was reclassified and merged together to create a an anthropogenic layer.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled a geodatabase containing mineral-related geospatial data for the People's Republic of China. The data can be used in analyses of the extractive fuel and nonfuel mineral industries and related economic and physical infrastructure integral for the successful operation of the mineral industries within the area of study as well as the movement of mineral products across domestic and global markets. This geodatabase reflects the USGS ongoing commitment to its mission of understanding the nature and distribution of global mineral commodity supply chains by updating and publishing the georeferenced locations of mineral commodity production and processing facilities, mineral...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled a geodatabase containing mineral-related geospatial data for 10 countries of interest in Southwest Asia (area of study): Afghanistan, Cambodia, Laos, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, North Korea, Pakistan, and Thailand. The data can be used in analyses of the extractive fuel and nonfuel mineral industries and related economic and physical infrastructure integral for the successful operation of the mineral industries within the area of study as well as the movement of mineral products across domestic and global markets. The electric transmission system is often discussed in the popular press as a topic of great concern, particularly in regard to the need for additional transmission lines over the next decade. The objective of this project was to gather information from energy company professionals who are charged with carrying out the task of developing utility rights-of-way (ROW), both for routing new transmission lines and upgrading existing ones. We asked them about current industry practices, technical issues, public involvement, and regulatory conditions affecting routing and upgrading transmission facilities, and about the changes they expect over the next five years. A total of 48 surveys related to electrical transmission...

This dataset contains Integrated Climate and Land Use Scenarios (ICLUS) 2010 data clipped to the Northwestern Plain ecoregion. This raster dataset is a classification of bhd2010bc (base case scenario) from ICLUS v1.2 which is produced using the SERGoM v3 model, depicts housing density for the coterminous US in 2000, based on 2000 US Census Bureau block (SF1) datasets. (The classication is shown below.) A raster layer that portrays not-developed (and assumed to be undevelopable) called DEV20091024_depicts protected/unprotected lands and Census water polygons. Land was removed from blocks (reducing the area of a block, but not its number of housing units -- assuming that private housing units must be on private land)...

Powerlines in the western United States and Canada as identified by the 22 source data layers used to compile this shapefile. Source data were collected by personal contact or through the internet in the winter and spring of 2004 and assimilated using ArcGIS. This file is a complete record of overhead powerline data that was avaliable as of 5/15/2004 but IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A COMPLETE REPRESENTATION OF THE SUM TOTAL OF ALL POWERLINES ON THE GROUND. These data primarily depict the higher voltage, long distance transmission lines but some arcs likely represent lower voltage distribution lines.

This data depicts infrastructure locations in Alaska as digitized primarily from 1:24,000, 1:63,360, and 1:250,000 USGS quadrangles. The source document that represented the newest information and best geographic location was used to capture the data. All infrastructure from the primary source document was digitized and then supplemented with the information from other source documents for additional or updated infrastructure or attributes. In addition, ISER added major rivers (those being named in the Anadromous streams catalog and > 150 km in length) and the historic Iditarod Trails for additional reference.

This geodatabase reflects the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) ongoing commitment to its mission of understanding the nature and distribution of global mineral commodity supply chains by updating and publishing the georeferenced locations of mineral commodity production and processing facilities, mineral exploration and development sites, and mineral commodity exporting ports in Africa. The geodatabase and geospatial data layers serve to create a new geographic information product in the form of a geospatial portable document format (PDF) map. The geodatabase contains data layers from USGS, foreign governmental, and open-source sources as follows: (1) mineral production and processing facilities, (2) mineral exploration...
