This shapefile is an vegetation map of Richmond National Battlefield Park, Virginia. It was developed by The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Natural Heritage in cooperation with North Carolina State University's Center for Earth Observation for the Northeast Region of the National Park Service. The data was created following general guidelines set forth by the USGS-NPS Vegetation Mapping Program. Map classes are crosswalked to the U.S. National Vegetation Classification (USNVC) or level II of the Andersons land use land cover classification system. Crosswalks to the USNVC were determined on September 27, 2007. The map is based on field work performed in the summer of 2002-2006 and...

Vegetation map of Roosevelt - Vanderbilt National Historic Sites provides local names for vegetation types, as well as crosswalks to the National Vegetation Classification System (NVCS), including association, alliance and formation level attributes. This dataset is post-Accuracy Assessment, so the thematic accuracy is not known. The original pre-Accuracy Assessment dataset has an accuracy that has been determined, and this is the "corrected", but untested, version. From technical report: [Based on the accuracy assessment sampling data and the final classification of 50 vegetation associations, the association-level maps [pre-AA] were revised to correct errors and create more accurate vegetation association polygon...

This map depicts 25 USNVC vegetation association classes and groups for Shenandoah National Park developed from AVIRIS hyperspectral imagery, ASTER multispectral imagery and topographic modeling (version 2.0b). Overall accuracy of this map is 60.5% as determined from 703 accuracy assessment field plots.

This shapefile is an association-level vegetation map of Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site developed by NatureServe for the National Park Service. The map is based on field work performed in the summers of 2003 and 2004 and a digital orthophoto image flown in early spring 2005. The vegetation communities are crosswalked to the most recent version of the NVCS (October 2007).

This shapefile is the final vegetation map of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site that provides local names for vegetation types, as well as crosswalks to the National Vegetation Classification System (NVCS), including association, alliance and formation level attributes. Crosswalks to the NVCS were determined on 29 June 2007. This data set was created using field data that were collected to assess thematic accuracy of the preliminary vegetation map (cross-referenced below). Therefore, although estimated thematic accuracy of the preliminary vegetation map is known, thematic accuracy of this data set is untested.

This shapefile is a vegetation map of Weir Farm National Historic Site, Connecticut. A map showing the locations of the vegetation associations within the park was created following the USGS-NPS Vegetation Mapping Program protocols (The Nature Conservancy and Environmental Systems research Institute 1994c). Each vegetation association was cross-walked to the National Vegetation Classification System (NVCS) or names modified from level II of Anderson's land use land cover classification system. The map is based on field work performed in the fall of 2003 and the summers of 2004-2005.

The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (TAPR) Vegetation Mapping Project was organized and coordinated by the Kansas Biological Survey (KBS) at the University of Kansas, in cooperation with NatureServe, in accordance with the standards set forth by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) - National Park Service (NPS) Vegetation Mapping Program. The TAPR Vegetation Mapping Project was initiated because the preserve protects a nationally significant example of the once vast tallgrass prairie ecosystem. Of the 400,000 square miles of tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American continent, less than four percent remains, primarily in the Flint Hills. Although the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve had been mapped...
