Following the May 2005 acid crater lake flood at Chiginagak volcano, DGGS has been monitoring crater lake water that flows into Indecision Creek, Mother Goose Lake, and the King Salmon River. This data table provides information on water samples collected between 2005 and 2011 near Chiginagak volcano, including:sample ID, latitude, longitude, location description, pH, and cation and anion chemistry results.

This data lists the historically active volcanoes of Alaska and the year of the last major eruptive event. The volcanoes listed meet at least one of the following criteria since 1700 CE: (1) documented, unquestioned eruption, or (2) a strongly suspected eruption, often an eruption documented in the historical account with very little information (current geologic knowledge must not contradict the eruption account), or (3) persistent (usually on the order of decades, but certainly longer than several months) fumaroles, with temperatures (where measured) within ~10 degrees C of the boiling point, or (4) significant, measured, volcanic-related, non-eruptive deformation, (5) documented earthquake swarm with strongly...

A detailed aeromagnetic survey of Mono Basin and Long Valley, California was flown by EON Geosciences Inc. from October 25th to November 11th, 2012. The high-resolution helicopter survey was flown at a flightline spacing of 400 m, a flightline azimuth of 65 degrees, a nominal flightline elevation above ground of 150 m, and consists of about 6,125 line-kilometers. Tie lines were spaced at a 4-km interval with a flightline azimuth of 155 degrees. A Scintrex CS-3 cesium magnetometer was used throughout the airborne survey and a GEM Systems GSM-19 magnetometer was used as a base station magnetometer located near the Mammoth Lake Yosemite airport. Data were processed by the contractor and include corrections for diurnal...

The California volcano locations, threat rank and hazard zones data release contains two shapefiles for download or use as a web map service. The California Volcanic Center Locations shapefile was created to provide a generalized location of volcano hazard sources. The California Volcano Hazard Zones shapefile was created from previously published hazard zone reports. Specific details about each file can be found in the metadata included with each file and the read-me document for this data release. Together, these files were used to define California Volcano Hazards for the GIS analysis that supports conclusions in the California's exposure to volcano hazards report. Geologists produce hazard zone maps to convey...
