These data include a row for each duck nest equipped with a small video camera. We present the location of the nest, the timing of the start of hatch, the timing of the end of hatch, and the timing of the departure of the hen and ducklings from the nest. Additionally, this table includes any predators that were observed at the nest depredating eggs prior to hatch and any predators that were observed at the nest between hatch and departure from the nest. These data represent an annotated training data for machine learned life history classification of the daily activity of dabbling ducks (f. Anatidae sf. Anatinae) using hourly GPS data. Each row of data represents a single GPS location for one of 5 species of dabbling duck. Note: the machine learned model was developed to be general across sf. Technological advancements in Global Positioning System (GPS) telemetry markers allow almost real-time observation of waterfowl movements and habitat selection. Telemetry data on ducks marked with GPS transmitters can be used to evaluate performance of remote sensing data (for example, dynamic open-water maps produced by Point Blue Conservation Science) for classifying habitats that are flooded and available for waterfowl. Translating dynamic open-water maps to waterfowl-relevant habitat maps provides a major improvement for wildlife researchers and managers to assist in their assessments of the areas and habitats used by waterfowl as hydrologic conditions change, both temporally and spatially. This dataset describes features of 2941 duck nests that were found in the Prairie Pothole Region of North and South Dakota during 2002-2003. Nest features include estimated initiation date, incubation stage and status as active. The dataset accompanies a scientific journal article describing an evaluation of the density and success of duck nests in conservation fields in 36 study areas that were seeded with native or tame grasses. Field features in this dataset include seeding treatment, planted area, and area of grassland patch.

We used open water data (version without cloud-filling) publicly available on Point Blue Conservation's California Water Tracker web site and which Point Blue derived at 16-18 day intervals from mosaics of Landsat 8 imagery for the region including the Central Valley and Suisun Marsh. Data release contains 1710 polygons representing small bodies of water within 500 meters of poultry feeding operations on the Delmarva Peninsula. Ponds were identified using the USDA's National Agriculture Imagery Program's 2016 and 2017 products. Poultry feeding operations were described in location by Soroka and Duren (2020).

These data, which support a USGS authored manuscript, describe how active and previous previous infection with avian influenza impacts the movement ecology of several wild waterfowl species that overwinter in California. Results varied by species and demonstrate that the relationships between avian influenza infection and wild bird movements are context- and species-dependent.
We used Point Blue Conservation Science's dynamic open-water dataset of water distribution and our telemetry data for duck locations to develop frequently updated habitat maps for the Central Valley and Suisun Marsh in California during October-March of 2014-15 through 2017-18. Telemetry data additionally was used to compare performance of each of three series of habitat maps produced.
