This project utilizes projected visualization of land cover conditions for the state of Florida at three future time periods. Simulated projected future conditions also vary by patterns in development, levels and types of conservation, and sea level rise. These visualized scenarios afford the opportunity to examine a range of possible outcomes for land use and land cover, and use these scenarios to evaluate the impacts on potential habitat distributions for focal species. For this project, focal species were centered within the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and impacts. This dataset is a compilation of several different datasets with a 1-mile buffer. It is used as an input for the USFWS Fuels Management Allocation and Accountability System (FAAS), which determines the percentage of the Fuels Management budget allocated to each of 8 regions. These data are valid for a period of three years, after which the FAAS model will be re-run with updated input data.

Vegetation and land cover data for Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge. This dataset was developed through image classification, local knowledge and ground-based field sampling. The imagery analyzed included a Worldview 2 satellite image, dated May 18, 2013 and aerial photography from the National Agricultural Imagery Program acquired in September 26, 2014. Multiple image datasets from Google Earth were also used for interpretation, in order to improve the supervised training of the image classification process.
