This metadata record contains 6 tables used to assess sources of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) in the Back River watershed, Baltimore City, Maryland. Included in the dataset are PCB concentrations of surface water and porewater passive samplers from Herring Run, Moores Run, tidal Back River, and Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant; PCB concentrations of bed sediments and other solids, Fat, Oil, and Grease (FOG) samples, and road sediments; dissolved organic carbon (DOC), total suspended solids (TSS), and particulate organic carbon (POC) concentrations of grab samples; and PCB concentrations of passive samplers from pump stations collected in 2018-2020.

This metadata record contains 15 tables with results from field and laboratory tests used to assess bioremediation in wetland areas at the Standard Chlorine of Delaware, Inc. Superfund site, New Castle County, Delaware, during 2019-2021. Included in the dataset are (1) polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) concentrations in wetland sediment from sediment microcosm laboratory experiments, (2) chlorobenzene concentrations in wetland sediment from sediment microcosm laboratory experiments, (3) polychlorinated biphenyl concentrations from PCB microcosm laboratory experiments using polyethylene strips, (4) chlorobenzene concentrations from PCB microcosm laboratory experiments using polyethylene strips, (5) total iron and ferrous...

In June 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia Water Science Center (MD-DE-DC WSC) team began to collect and inventory available information on toxic contaminants within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. State agencies were contacted to determine available data. Also, the National Water Information System (NWIS) and National Water Quality Database (NWQD) were queried to gather relevant data for the compilation. The resulting tables contain records for available sites where specific analyte groups, Hg (mercury), PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls), or pesticides, have been collected with appropriate supplemental metadata including media, method, time frame, and frequency of collection. Sample...

This metadata record contains a shapefile of site locations and 3 tables used to assess wetland elevation change over time and the long-term effects of sea-level rise to vulnerable tidal wetlands along the Edgewood peninsula of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Included in the dataset are raw pin measurements of wetland sediment elevation and water levels measured for selected sites along Monks Creek and Swaderick Creek, in addition to water levels at the Marina along Bush River collected in 2018-2019. Contents of this data release have been approved for public release and unlimited distribution by the U.S. Army, clearance number 20021-4-33.
ScienceBase brings together the best information it can find about USGS researchers and offices to show connections to publications, projects, and data. We are still working to improve this process and information is by no means complete. If you don't see everything you know is associated with you, a colleague, or your office, please be patient while we work to connect the dots. Feel free to contact sciencebase@usgs.gov.
