These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This product "Observed, predicted, and misclassification error data for observations in the training dataset for nitrate and arsenic concentrations in basin-fill aquifers in the Southwest Principal Aquifers study" is a 1:250,000-scale point dataset and was developed as part of a regional Southwest Principal Aquifers (SWPA) study. The study examined the vulnerability of basin-fill aquifers in the southwestern United States to nitrate...

This is a 100-meter cell resolution raster dataset consisting of 1:750,000-scale surficial geology for California and 1:500,000-scale for Nevada, and parts of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. This data set was aggregated from a compilation of geologic maps of the Southwest Regional GAP Analysis Project (ReGAP) along with California geology and the very southern portion of Oregon and Idaho geology.

SWPA_alvbsn is a vector dataset of alluvial-fill basin statistics for the Southwest United States. Statistics for each basin include physical details such as area, landcover, elevation, slope and precipitation. Anthropogenic data for basin include landuse, population, and wateruse.

This dataset is a 100-meter cell resolution raster of estimated use of public supply water for the southwestern United States. The dataset was generated from 1:100,000-scale county boundary data, 2005 LandScan population data, and USGS estimated use of water in the United States in 2000.
