This data release links benthic macroinvertebrate sites to both the NHDPlus Version 2 and NHDPlus High Resolution Region 02 networks, hereafter referred to as V2 and HR, using the hydrolink methodology. Linked benthic macroinvertebrate sites are those included in the Chesapeake Bay Basin-wide Index of Biotic Integrity (Chessie BIBI) developed by the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB) and available from the Chesapeake Bay Program (https://datahub.chesapeakebay.net/LivingResources). The data set contains a unique sample identifier created by ICPRB, survey program, coordinates of sample, linked V2 COMID and HR Permanent Identifier, and information regarding uncertainty in the attribution. We strongly...

These data were compiled to create models that estimate entrainment rates and population growth rates of smallmouth bass below Glen Canyon Dam. Objective(s) of our study were to predict smallmouth bass entrainment rates and population growth under different future scenarios of Lake Powell elevations and management. These data represent parameters needed for associated models and data needed to produce figures. These data were collected from publicly available online sources including published papers and federal government datasets. These data were assembled by researchers from U.S. Geological Survey, Utah State University, Colorado State University, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. These data can be used to run...

A three-dimensional groundwater flow model using MODFLOW-NWT was developed to evaluate historical and potential stream capture in the lower Humboldt River Basin, Nevada. The Humboldt River Basin is the only river basin that is contained entirely within the state of Nevada. The effect of groundwater pumping on the Humboldt River is not well understood. Tools are needed to determine stream capture and manage groundwater pumping in the Humboldt River Basin. Previous work has demonstrated that the river’s surface-water resource is sensitive to groundwater withdrawals, which have steadily increased since the 1950s for agriculture, municipal, and mining uses. A numerical groundwater flow model was developed for the purpose...

This data release includes physical and chemical characteristics of field collected sediment and soil samples in Missouri representing potential sediment/soil that may enter the water column during construction related activities. Three samples were collected, including Spring River sediment, Osage River bank soil and Columbia crushed limestone. The impacts of increased suspended solid level due to the three samples on early-stage freshwater mussels were examined using three freshwater mussel species, including Fatmucket (Lampsilis siliquoidea), Arkansas Brokenray (Lampsilis reeveiana), and Washboard (Megalonaias nervosa). Specifically, toxicity endpoints including survival, biomass, and growth of juveniles were...

LANDFIRE's (LF) 2022 Forest Canopy Cover (CC) describes the percent cover of the tree canopy in a stand. CC is a vertical projection of the tree canopy cover onto an imaginary horizontal plane. CC supplies information for fire behavior models to determine the probability of crown fire initiation, provide input in the spotting model, calculate wind reductions, and to calculate fuel moisture conditioning. To create this product, plot level CC values are calculated using the canopy fuel estimation software, Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS). Pre-disturbance CC and Canopy Height (CH) are used as predictors of disturbed CC using a linear regression equation per Fuel Vegetation Type (FVT), disturbance type/severity, and...

LANDFIRE (LF) 2022 Fuel Vegetation Cover (FVC) represents the LF Existing Vegetation Cover (EVC) product, modified to represent pre-disturbance EVC in areas where disturbances have occurred over the past 10 years. EVC is mapped as continuous estimates of canopy cover for tree, shrub, and herbaceous lifeforms with a potential range from 10% to 100%. Continuous EVC values are binned to align with fuel model assignments when creating FVC. FVC is an input for fuel transitions related to disturbance. Fuel products in LF 2022 were created with LF 2016 Remap vegetation in non-disturbed areas. To designate disturbed areas where FVC is modified, the aggregated Annual Disturbance products from 2013 to 2022 in the Fuel Disturbance...

The Stream Conditions of Chester County Biological Monitoring Network was established by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Chester County Water Resources Authority in 1969. Benthic-macroinvertebrate, habitat, and stream chemistry data were collected annually from 1998-2021 at 18 fixed location sites. Additionally, nine flexible location sites were selected and sampled annually from 1998-2021. Some of the flexible location sites were sampled more than once over the study period. All data were collected in the fall months (October-November) during baseflow conditions. The benthic-macroinvertebrate data collected was used to calculate six metrics and to establish an index of biotic integrity for each sample, while...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and Susquehanna River Basin Commission, prepared hydro-conditioned geographic information systems (GIS) layers for use in the Pennsylvania StreamStats application. These data were used to update the peak flow and low flow regression equations for Pennsylvania. This dataset consists of flow direction rasters for each 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) area in Pennsylvania, one of the layer types needed to delineate watersheds within the HUC-8 areas, merged into a single dataset. The 59 HUCs represented by this dataset are 02040101,...

Groundwater quality data for 472 domestic well-water samples were retrieved from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database and combined with descriptive information on the sampled well locations. The NWIS data for a sample, collected on the selected date, were averaged into a single record (one per well), and rounded according to USGS protocols. For evaluation and reporting, the water-quality data were further combined with physical attributes and classified by lithology, topographic position, physiographic province, region, redox, and pH (as standalone matrix, one row per well). A second data matrix file incorporating minimum reporting levels for censored and low-reported values (set to 0.99X highest...
