Groundwater quality data for 472 domestic well-water samples were retrieved from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database and combined with descriptive information on the sampled well locations. The NWIS data for a sample, collected on the selected date, were averaged into a single record (one per well), and rounded according to USGS protocols. For evaluation and reporting, the water-quality data were further combined with physical attributes and classified by lithology, topographic position, physiographic province, region, redox, and pH (as standalone matrix, one row per well). A second data matrix file incorporating minimum reporting levels for censored and low-reported values (set to 0.99X highest...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) conducted aquifer interval isolation (packer) tests of discrete water-bearing zones using straddle packers in 13 wells in Northampton, Warminster, and Warwick Townships and Ivyland Borough, Bucks County, Pennsylvania during 2018-19 to support detailed groundwater investigations at and near the former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Warminster, where groundwater contamination with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) had become a concern since 2014. The area is underlain by the Triassic-age Stockton Formation, which forms a fractured-sedimentary-rock aquifer used for private, industrial, and public drinking-water supply. The packer tests were conducted in 7 former production...

Here we report optical data collected as part of a collaborative study between USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and Water Mission Area Proxies Project. The optical measurements reported here were collected to aide in the characterization of water sources and mixtures and establish proxies (surrogates) for per- and poly-fluorinated alkyl substances within the Neshaminy Creek basin. Data are compiled into three tables: 1) full fluorescence spectra in vectorized format, 2) full absorbance spectra, and 3) summary file of commonly extracted optical indicators and field-based sensor arrays.

Water-quality data for groundwater samples collected by the U.S. Geological Survey from 79 wells in Pike County, Pennsylvania, 1982-2015. Data consist of field properties and results of laboratory analysis for concentrations of inorganic constituents, dissolved gases (methane, ethane and propane), radon-222, gross alpha and beta radioactivity, radium-226, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and methane isotopic composition in groundwater samples. Dataset prepared as part of 2015 study for which 79 wells were sampled and includes comparable results for 18 of the 79 wells that were sampled for previous studies in years 1982, 2007, 2011-13. In 2015, groundwater samples from all 79 wells were analyzed for all constituents...

This dataset contains altitudes of selected beds and inferred faults in boreholes within an area of interest determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at the Valmont TCE Superfund site in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The selected beds correspond to sections of borehole geophysical logs with elevated natural gamma activity as described in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Open-File Report 2021–1093 (Senior and others, 2021). Geophysical logs were correlated on multiple cross sections in this USGS report, which showed these geologic features and inferred faults in the subsurface. Additionally, thin coal or coaly beds were identified from borehole density logs (Senior and others, 2021). The altitudes...
