Data for groundwater-levels measured in 616 wells during water year 2020 (November 2019-June 2020) by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Mojave Water Agency (MWA), and other local water districts were compiled to construct a regional water-table shapefile for 2020. The regional water-table shapefile shows the elevation of the water table in and around the Mojave River and Morongo areas, in San Bernardino County, California.

Data for static groundwater-levels measured in about 645 wells during the period of January-April 2016 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Mojave Water Agency, and other local water districts were compiled to construct a regional water-table map. The downloadable shapefile shows the elevation of the water table in the Mojave River and Morongo groundwater basins. This dataset is a digital representation of the contours presented on Plate 1 of Regional Water Table (2016) in the Mojave River and Morongo Groundwater Basins, Southwestern Mojave Desert, California: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigation Map, doi:10.5066/sim3391, published by Meghan C. Dick and Adam R. Kjos. It is a continuation...

Data for groundwater-levels measured in 707 wells during January-July 2018 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Mojave Water Agency (MWA), and other local water districts were compiled to construct a regional water-table shapefile for 2018. The regional water-table shapefile shows the elevation of the water table in and around the Mojave River and Morongo areas, in San Bernardino County, California.

During spring 2016, the U.S. Geological Survey and other agencies made approximately 1976 water-level measurements in the Mojave River and Morongo groundwater basins. A water-level contour map was drawn using a subset of data from about 645 wells, providing coverage for most of the basins. The contours represent the regional water table in spring 2016. This data set is a digital representation of the 2016 contours presented on Plate 1 of Regional Water Table (2016) in the Mojave River and Morongo Groundwater Basins, Southwestern Mojave Desert, California: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Map, doi:10.3133/sim3391, published by Meghan C. Dick and Adam R. Kjos.
Water levels were measured during March 2014 in wells in the Antelope Valley and Fremont Valley groundwater basins, southwestern Mojave Desert, California, in cooperation with the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water District, Palmdale Water District, and Littlerock Creek Irrigation District. These data document recent conditions and, when compared with previous data, changes in groundwater levels. A regional water-table map was constructed using data from about 200 wells.
Data were collected to help define hydrologic controls on groundwater movement as part of a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) study on background concentrations of hexavalent chromium in groundwater aquifers near Hinkley, California. Most data associated with the background study are available through the National Water Information System (NWIS) website, and GeoLog Locator. This product is intended to publish data that cannot be released through NWIS and GeoLog. These data include: (1) pneumatic and physical slug tests done by USGS personnel; (2) cone penetration test data collected under contract to, and reported by, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E); and (3) water levels in selected wells measured by consultants to...
