Understanding how sea-level rise will affect coastal landforms and the species and habitats they support is critical for crafting approaches that balance the needs of humans and native species. Given this increasing need to forecast sea-level rise effects on barrier islands in the near and long terms, we are developing Bayesian networks to evaluate and to forecast the cascading effects of sea-level rise on shoreline change, barrier island state, and piping plover habitat availability. We use publicly available data products, such as lidar, orthophotography, and geomorphic feature sets derived from those, to extract metrics of barrier island characteristics at consistent sampling distances. The metrics are then incorporated...

This categorical CWD raster was developed from a project-wide CWD raster. For each of the five fracture zones, the CWD raster was partitioned into zone-specific, 10 equal-area class map, ranging from low CWD to high CWD.

This cost-weighted distance (CWD) raster was developed from a generalized shrub-steppe and grassland (SSGL) species guild resistance model based on 20th percentile of resistance values for the five statewide analysis (WHCWG 2010) focal species in this biome, including sage-grouse, black-tailed jackrabbit, white-tailed jackrabbit, badger, and sharp-tailed grouse.

A digital dataset of analog simulation of water-level declines in the Sparta Sand, Mississippi Embayment in Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi was developed from J.E. Reed's "Analog simulation of water-level declines in the Sparta Sand, Mississippi Embayment" (1972). The plate was georeferenced to North American Datum 1983 and projected to USA Contiguous Albers Equal Conic (U.S. Geological Survey version) projection (standard parallels 29.5 and 45.5 degrees, central meridian -96 degrees, and latitude of origin 23 degrees). Once georeferenced (using ArcMap v 10.4.1), individual potentiometric contours were digitized manually. Figures included in the digital dataset are figures 2...
From May 2017 to November 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted bathymetric surveys of New York City's East of Hudson Reservoirs. Bathymetry data were collected at Bog Brook Reservoir during October 2017. Depth data were collected primarily with a multibeam echosounder. Quality assurance points were measured with a single-beam echosounder. Water surface elevations were established using real-time kinematic (RTK) and static global navigation satellite system (GNSS) surveys and submersible pressure transducers. Measured sound velocity profiles were used to correct echosounder depth measurements for thermal stratification. Digital elevation models were created by combining the measured bathymetry data with lidar...
From May 2017 to November 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted bathymetric surveys of New York City's East of Hudson Reservoirs. Bathymetry data were collected at Cross River Reservoir During June 2018 and October 2019. Depth data were collected primarily with a multibeam echosounder; additional bathymetry points were measured using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). Quality assurance points were measured with a single-beam echosounder. Water surface elevations were established using real-time kinematic (RTK) and static global navigation satellite system (GNSS) surveys and submersible pressure transducers. These raster files showing wetland areas that were functional during Rainwater Basin Wetland Complex Annual Habitat Survey. Annual Habitat Surveys (AHS) identify areas of wetland ponding and function (ponding and potential hydrophyte vegetation) during spring migration. The information is developed by Rainwater Basin Joint Venture to identifying how much habitat the Rainwater Basin Wetland Complex provides to migratory waterfowl on an annual basis. AHS have been completed for 2004 and 2006-2020 where high-resolution aerial photos of the Rainwater Basin Wetland Complex are classified using an image object classification software to determine land cover (hydrophyte water, agriculture water, hydrophytes, agriculture,...

Text files: These data are text files of GNSS survey points collected along a trace of the West Napa Fault Zone near Ehlers Lane north of St. Helena, California. Data were collected to aid in paleoseismic investigation of the suspected fault strand and to characterize local geomorphology. Data were collected on March 31, and August 1, 2017 using a Leica Viva GS15 survey-grade GNSS receiver. The data are delivered as positions in the NAD83 UTM zone 10N coordinate system with orthometric heights according to Geoid 12B. LAZ files: These data are point clouds from terrestrial lidar data collected along a trace of the West Napa Fault Zone near Ehlers Lane north of St. Helena, California. This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Cumberland 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2019 and 2023. The data were processed using geographic information systems (GIS) software. The data is projected in WGS 1984. This representation illustrates the terrain as a hillshade with contrast adjusted to highlight local relief according to a topographic position index (TPI) calculation.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), prepared geographic information systems (GIS) layers for use in the West Virginia StreamStats application. The Digital Elevation Model and associated data were hydrologically conditioned, which is the process of burning in single line streams at the 1:24,000 scale into a digital elevation model to produce flow direction and flow accumulation grids. This data includes geotif images for a 10 meter digital elevation model, a flow direction, and a flow accumulation raster/grid image for the WV Streamstats area. The 34 HUCs represented by this dataset are 02070001, 02070002, 02070003, 02070004, 02070005, 02070006, 02070007, 05020001, 05020002,05020003, 05020004, 05020005, 05020006,...

This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution magnetic survey over an area of the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The survey area lies approximately between the towns of Iron Mountain and Chatham. Data for this survey were collected by EON Geosciences under contract with the USGS using a fixed wing aircraft with a magnetometer mounted in the tail stinger. The survey operated out of the Sawyer International Airport near Marquette, Michigan, from June of 2018 to September of 2018. A total of 38,474 line km of data were collected. Data were collected along north-south flight lines spaced 150 meters apart with east-west tie lines flown every 1,500 meters. The nominal terrain clearance...

8 aerial photographs were taken along the Little Missouri River in 1966. All images were geo-referenced to the 1995 digital orthophoto quarter quadrangles as described by Miller and Friedman (2009). Both the flood plain and active channel of the river were delineated on the 1995 digital orthophoto quadrangles and overlain on rectified photos. ArcGIS was used to draw the polygons that delineate the flood plain and active channel; the delineation was saved as a SHP file. The separate images (geoTIFFs) can be viewed as a composite along with that year's channel delineation (SHP file) using ArcGIS, or any other geographic information system (GIS) compatible program. This dataset shows land cover in the Upper Oconee watershed. The data layer primarily uses the 2011 National Land Cover Database (NLCD) but was manually edited to include 2,219 additional reservoirs. The reservoirs were identified and digitized using 2010 National Aerial Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery.

Wind fetch is defined as the unobstructed distance that wind can travel over water in a constant direction. Fetch is an important characteristic of open water because longer fetch can result in larger wind-generated waves. The larger waves, in turn, can increase shoreline erosion and sediment re-suspension. Wind fetches were calculated using the wind fetch model available from (http://www.umesc.usgs.gov/management/dss/wind_fetch_wave_models_2012update.html) for aquatic areas within the Upper Mississippi River System. This toolbox calculates effective wind fetch using the recommended procedure of the Shore Protection Manual (USACE 1984). A baseline conditions assessment of wind fetch was conducted to assist the...
