This data release provides a set of Hydrological Simulation Program--Fortran (HSPF) model files representing 5 EPA-selected future climate change scenarios for each of two river basins: Taunton and Sudbury, in Massachusetts. Output from these models are intended for use as input to EPA Watershed Management Optimization Support Tool (WMOST) modeling. Climate scenarios, based on 2036-2065 change from 1975-2004 Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5 and 8.5, model effects of air temperature and precipitation changes (in degrees F for air temperature, in percent for precipitation) made to the input historical meteorological time series 1975-2004. Taunton meteorological data is from T.F. Green Airport and the...

A series of 11 digital flood-inundation maps were developed for a 5.5 mile reach of the lower Pawcatuck River in Westerly, Rhode Island and Stonington and North Stonington, Connecticut by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Town of Westerly, Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Office of Housing and Community Development. The coverage of the maps extends from downstream from the Ashaway River inflow at the Westerly, Rhode Island and North Stonington, Connecticut State border to about 500 feet (ft) downstream of the U.S. Route 1/Broad Street bridge on the state border between Westerly, Rhode Island and Stonington, Connecticut. A hydraulic model was used to compute water-surface profiles for 11 flood stages...

This data release provides a set of Hydrological Simulation Program--Fortran (HSPF) model files representing 5 EPA-selected future climate change scenarios for each of three river basins: Blackstone in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Pawcatuck in Rhode Island, and Ispwich in Massachusetts. Output from these models are intended for use as input to EPA Watershed Management Optimization Support Tool (WMOST) modeling. Climate scenarios, based on 2036-2065 change from 1975-2004 Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5 and 8.5, model effects of air temperature and precipitation changes (in degrees F for air temperature, in percent for precipitation) made to the input historical meteorological time series 1975-2004....

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) assisted the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) with the Massachusetts Estuary Project (MEP), by delineating groundwater-contributing areas to various hydrologic features including ponds, streams, and coastal water bodies, throughout southeastern Massachusetts. These contributing areas were delineated over a 6-year period from 2003 to 2008 using previously published USGS groundwater-flow models for the Plymouth-Carver region (Masterson and others, 2009), the Sagamore (western) and Monomoy (eastern) flow lenses of Cape Cod (Walter and Whealan, 2005), and lower Cape Cod (Masterson, 2004). The original USGS groundwater-contributing areas were subsequently...
Streamflow and phosphorus concentrations were monitored in the Assabet River in central Massachusetts in order to evaluate concentrations and loads in the river before, during, and after changes in the amount of total phosphorus that was discharged to the river from three wastewater-treatment plants. At four locations the U.S. Geological Survey collected weekly flow-proportional, composite samples of water from the Assabet River for analysis of concentrations of total phosphorus and orthophosphate. Streamflow and concentration data were used to estimate total phosphorus and orthophosphate loads in the river and compare them with total phosphorus load outputs from three wastewater-treatment plants. Data were collected...

This dataset contains gage information for 75 Hydroclimatic Data Network-2009 basins in the conterminous United States and associated annual runoff volume, winter-spring runoff volume, and winter-spring runoff timing data 1920-2014, as well as trend results for WSCVD and WSV for periods 1920-2014, 1940-2014, and 1960-2014.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and the Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS), has developed data to assess the effects of short- and long-term climate change on hydrology in New Hampshire. A USGS Scientific Investigations Report (SIR) documents the datasets developed by the USGS. The data presented in this data release represent future hydrologic climate projections developed using a calibrated USGS Precipitation Runoff Modeling System (PRMS) model using precipitation and air temperature inputs from five general circulation models (GCMs) for two future climate scenarios for the period 2009 to 2099. The data sets include...

This data release includes transect data comprising velocity and depths collected by use of an acoustic-doppler current profiler (ADCP), and vertical profile data comprising conductivity, temperature, and depth by use of a conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) instrument, as well as tide elevation data at specified locations in the lower Penobscot River and Penobscot Bay (the Penobscot River Estuary).

This data release provides analytical and other data in support of an analysis of nitrogen transport and transformation in groundwater and in a subterranean estuary in the Eel River and onshore locations on the Seacoast Shores peninsula, Falmouth, Massachusetts. The analysis is described in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2018-5095 by Colman and others (2018). This data release is structured as a set of comma-separated values (CSV) files, each of which contains data columns for laboratory (if applicable), USGS Site Name, date sampled, time sampled, and columns of specific analytical and(or) other data. The .csv data files have the same number of rows and each row in each .csv file corresponds...

This dataset contains *.rdata files that contain model objects returned from the glm{stats} function (v.3.3.0) in R. for 258 models derived for selected wells in the conterminous United States. The models are generalized linear models with a binomial response variable (glm family set to binomial) for forecasting the probability of groundwater levels declining or maintaining below specified low thresholds for any time of the year for forecast time horizons from 1 to 12 months.
This dataset contains the water-quality results from the testing of unfiltered water samples collected from 674 private wells in Connecticut for the analysis of arsenic and (or) uranium, using EPA method 200.8. All of the environmental water-quality data and georeferenced locations of the sampled wells were provided by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT-DPH). The water samples, collected from 2013 to 2015, were analyzed by the CT-DPH Laboratory in Hartford, CT. This dataset also contains information on the town and county location for each well and information on the geologic setting for each well. Latitude and longitude coordinate data are not provided in this data release in order to maintain the...

This dataset contains information on the degree of potential human influence near 2228 groundwater wells in the U.S. glacial aquifer system. Data include well identification number, name, latitude, longitude, potential-human-influence category, percent urban and crop land use in a 500 meter radius around each well, and measures of county-based groundwater use and irrigation. Ancillary information includes nearest appropriate streamflow gaging stations and meteorological stations, and also climate division for each well.
