These data depict the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.1 (NHDPlusV2.1) flowline representation of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System throughout the conterminous United States as of 2018. U.S. Forest Service geospatial data on National Wild and Scenic River segments (USFS WSR Segment) from 3/1/2016 were joined to the NHDPlusV2.1 to create the Wild and Scenic Rivers 2018 Linked to the NHDPlusV2.1 (wsr_nhdpv2.1) data. To ensure these data correctly represented the NHDPlusV2.1 flowline delineation of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, each wsr_nhdpv2.1 river segment was examined against the USFS WSR Segment data to check for duplication and/or omission of Wild and Scenic River segments. Spatial...

In 2022, publication and data linkages were evaluated using two methods in an effort to understand how a data citation workflow has been implemented by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) since the 2016 USGS instructional memorandum, Public Access to Results of Federally Funded Research at the U.S. Geological Survey: Scholarly Publications and Digital Data (USGS OSQI, 2016), went into effect, requiring USGS data be assigned a DOI, be accompanied by a citation, and be referenced from the associated publication (USGS OSQI, 2017). This data release includes data and publication structural metadata results retrieved from the USGS DOI Tool and Crossref APIs and Jupyter notebooks used to process and analyze the results.

NOTE: For the most recent listing of CDI projects, see the CDI public USGS website at: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/community-for-data-integration-cdi/science The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Community for Data Integration (CDI) was established in 2009 to address data and information management issues affecting the proficiency of earth science research. The CDI provides a forum for collaboration and brainstorming by bringing together expertise from external partners and representatives across USGS who are involved in research, data management, and information technology. Through partnerships and working groups, the CDI leads the development of data management tools and practices, cyber infrastructure, collaboration...

In 2021, the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Science Data Management Team distributed four surveys related to Data Management Plans (DMPs) and Data Management Planning to USGS researchers, data managers and information technologists, Center Directors, and Program Coordinators and Bureau Approving Officials. This data release includes survey results with redactions (to allow survey participants to remain anonymous), and the Jupyter Notebooks used to process and analyze results.

The Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative Literature Database is a collection of publication records that reference the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative (WLCI). The database was developed in an effort to provide the WLCI community with a more functional publication citation index and storage system. By maintaining the literature database, the WLCI community has the opportunity to streamline their workflow and gain further insight into the work that has been published on in regards to the WLCI effort. The xDD API, ScienceBase Catalog, USGS Publications Warehouse, ORCiD website, USGS Staff Profiles website, WLCI website, and the homepages of WLCI scientists were used to search and compile records. The...
