Sage-grouse habitat areas divided into proposed management categories within Nevada and California project study boundaries. HABITAT CATEGORY DETERMINATION The process for category determination was directed by the Nevada Sagebrush Ecosystem Technical team. Sage-grouse habitat was determined from a statewide resource selection function model and first categorized into 4 classes: high, moderate, low, and non-habitat. The standard deviations (SD) from a normal distribution of RSF values created from a set of validation points (10% of the entire telemetry dataset) were used to categorize habitat ‘quality’ classes. 1) High quality habitat comprised pixels with RSF values < 0.5 SD. 2) Moderate > 0.5 and < 1.0 SD. 3)...

Systematic conservation planning is well suited to address the many large-scale biodiversity conservation challenges facing the Appalachian region. However, broad, well-connected landscapes will be required to sustain many of the natural resources important to this area into the future. If these landscapes are to be resilient to impending change, it will likely require an orchestrated and collaborative effort reaching across jurisdictional and political boundaries. The first step in realizing this vision is prioritizing discrete places and actions that hold the greatest promise for the protection of biodiversity. Five conservation design elements covering many critical ecological processes and patterns across the...
The Hydrology Point Feature Class defines natural/semi natual point hydrographic features (springs, seeps, tanks, guzzlers…) on RSL. The data for this point feature class was provided by the refuge.

This mapping documents the changes in extent and condition of vernal pool habitat in the Great Valley between 2005 and 2012. "Vernal pool habitat" is defined as vernal pools and the surrounding upland (typically grassland) habitat matrix. The 2005 basemap was created by using double-blind mapping protocol and included 21.4 million acres in and surrounding the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys (Witham et al 2013). The area included in the 2012 remapping effort focused on the 807,820 acres identified in the 2005 map and areas immediately surrounding the previously mapped polygons. Special attention was paid to areas where habitat was being created through mitigation banking. The result of the 2012 remapping shows...

Metadata specific to this state's data is not available. The MARIS Master metadata record can be accessed to help provide general data descriptions and guidance to users. MARIS is an internet-based information sharing network that allows multiple states to provide a common set of variables via a single web interface. MARIS is not a “dataset” but rather links specific content of multiple states’ datasets. MARIS does not capture all of the information from a state’s aquatic dataset – only a subset of data collected as part of aquatic species sampling surveys. The MARIS structure was developed by a consortium of state fish and wildlife agencies and implemented through contracts with various universities. In the past,...
These data were created as part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Coastal Services Center's efforts to create an online mapping viewer depicting potential sea level rise and its associated impacts on the nation's coastal areas. The purpose of the mapping viewer is to provide coastal managers and scientists with a preliminary look at sea level rise (slr) and coastal flooding impacts. The viewer is a screening-level tool that uses nationally consistent data sets and analyses.Data and maps provided can be used at several scales to help gauge trends and prioritize actions for different scenarios. This dataset depicts vegetation and land cover for Klamath Marsh NWR. It was created using eCognition software and multiple sources of imagery. Field data were also collected at two different time to assist with image interpretation/classification. Details: This dataset was created by interpreting and classifying multiple image sources. These include: July 2005 2.5 meter Quickbird multispectral imagery, July 2005 ASTER 15 meter multispectral imagery, July 2006 Landsat 30 meter multispectral imagery, and December 2005 ASTER 15 meter multispectral imagery. Images were loaded into eCognition software which created polygons based on areas with similar image features. Statistics were then created for each polygon based...

This polygon depicts the area open for waterfowl hunting at Salinas River NWR. This dataset is used for mapping purposes only and all hunters should consult the refuge prior to engaging in hunting. Hunting seasons and other restrictions apply.
The Hydrology Polygon Feature Class defines areas of open water features on RSL. The polygon feature class is composed of National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Plus Polygons and where the NHD Plus layer was insufficient, water bodies were digitized from 2010 National Agricultural Inventory Program (NAIP) 1 meter aerial imagery. Areas of open water are known to fluctuate based on rainfall and other factors, and therefore this dataset may not be accurate for other time periods.

A raster dataset representing the resilience and resistance classes combined with greater sage-grouse breeding habitat probabilities. It was created to represent greater sage-grouse breeding habitat probabilities within each resilience and resistance class. It was created to be incorporated into a larger landscape scale geospatial data modeling effort, the Conservation and Restoration Strategy. The R&R and the GRSG Breeding Habitat Probability raster were incorporated; the resulting raster contained 12 values: 26 - Unsuitable Probability and High R&R 27 - Unsuitable Probability and Moderate R&R 28 - Unsuitable Probability and Low R&R 51 - Low Probability and High R&R 52 - Low Probability and Moderate R&R 53...

We summarize available information on Pacific walrus haulouts from available reports, interviews with coastal residents and aviators, and personal observations of the authors. We provide this in the form of a georeferenced database that may be queried and displayed with standard geographic information system and database management software. The database contains 150 records of Pacific walrus haulouts, with a summary of basic characteristics on maximum haulout size, age-sex composition, season of use, and decade of most recent use. Citations to reports are provided as a bibliographic database.
