This theme is polygon data that depicts two types of development for the state of Wyoming. The first is existing development and the second are habitats where there is a high likelihood that development will occur in the near future. We considered development of oil, gas and coal bed methane, mining of minerals (trona, uranimum, coal, and bentonite), urban expansion. Other infrastructure activities such as roads, highways, fiberoptic lines, processing plants, pipelines, other facilities, and various combinations of development that were believed to impact sage-grouse were recorded. Information sources and assessment processes varied depending on data available and resource specialist participation for areas within...

This dataset represents all of the Historical Trails in Wyoming, including those designated as National Historic Trails. These data have been collected using methods ranging from screen digitizing at a large scale to collecting trails with aGlobal Positioning System (GPS). In general, the main trail system(Oregon/California/Mormon Pioneer/Pony Express) is the most accurate, falling somewhere between the 24K and 100K mapping standards. Still, these trails represent only an approximation of the centerline of the trails system and should be used only as a preliminary planning tool. Consultation with the appropriate Field Office will still be necessary for any specific project.

This database for the Oregon, California, Mormon Pioneer, and Pony Express National Historic Trails is comprised of digital topographic data and reference line established using point data gathered with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology which represents only an approximation of the centerline of the trails system. This database, which is to be used in conjunction with ArcView software, is provided to assist the user in analyzing the visibility of any proposed location within 5 miles of the GPS reference line of the trails in order to evaluate effects to the landscape and setting of National Historic Trails in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations at 36CFR...

This theme is polygon data that depicts five types of sagebrush habitats (sage-grouse habitats) for the state of Wyoming. These five attributes are sagebrush/ perennial grassland, perennial grasslands without sagebrush, annual grasslands with or without sagebrush, conifer/juniper encroachment areas, and non-sagebrush habitats. This mid-scale(1:100,000) evaluation process was designed to complement national (large-scale) sagebrush (sage-grouse) planning efforts and provided a step- down analysis to state level efforts. Information sources and assessment processes varied depending on data available and resource specialist participation for areas within the state. These reviews were intended to provide an understanding...

This is a vector line coverage file showing the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail in the Lander and Rawlins Field Offices. The coordinates for this dataset were collected using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. Volunteers, using a Trimble ProXL receiver, mapped the trail in the summer of 2001 by walking and driving the trail segments. As this is a "new" trail, some segments did not exist as a feature on the ground, so the volunteers marked the trail with carsonite signs and mapped these segments also.

Hydrologic reconnaissance of Mineral Creek near Silverton, Colo., was conducted from June 25-27, 2020. Both banks of Mineral Creek and the adjacent hillsides were walked, starting near the ghost town of Chattanooga and proceeding downstream to the confluence of Mineral Creek with the Middle Fork of Mineral Creek. The purpose of this reconnaissance was to identify areas of emergent groundwater on the right (EGR) and left (EGL) banks, a task that was accomplished by following observed surface flows (seeps and springs) upgradient to the point at which they emanated from the subsurface. Coordinates, using a handheld global positioning system (GPS) device, and photographs were obtained at these locations of emergent...
