The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a sovereign Small Island State in the tropical central North Pacific Ocean. RMI is a nation of more than thirty atolls and islands, most of which are inhabited, dispersed across an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) over 2 million square kilometers. This data release contains raster datasets for vegetation and water monitoring including Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Landscape Water Requirement Satisfaction Index (L-WRSI), and Soil Moisture Index (SMI) for selected locations and precipitation (dekadal (10-day) sum) for the entire RMI from 2017-2022. These data were compiled to support a 2022-2023 U.S. Geological Survey project for developing methods to apply...

RMI is a nation of more than thirty atolls and islands, most of which are inhabited, dispersed across an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) over 2 million square kilometers. This data release contains files of daily precipitation estimates beginning in 2001 for 23 inhabited sites in the RMI derived from Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG; https://gpm.nasa.gov/data/imerg). The files contain either "Late IMERG" data or "Final IMERG" data and are in millimeter per day. These data were compiled to support a 2022-2023 U.S. Geological Survey project to develop methods to apply Earth Observation...

The data set includes the daily streamflow predictions from (Long Short-Term Memory) LSTM models for 45 basins (27 basins in New England region and 18 basins in Great Basin region) in contrasting hydroclimate regions (water-limited Great Basin region and energy-limited New England region) in the United States. Also, the shapefiles of study basins and hydroclimate regions, and data to support the statistical results, figures, and tables are included.

This dataset, VegDischarge v1, represents a significant contribution to the understanding of hydrological dynamics across Africa from 2000 to 2021. It encompasses high-resolution (1km x 1km) monthly raster data of deep drainage, surface runoff, and total runoff, derived from the VegET (VegetationEvapoTranspiration) hydrological model (Senay et al., 2023). Additionally, routed discharge data (Mizukami et al., 2021) for over 63,000 river segments is provided, employing different routing algorithms (DW, KW, KWT, MC, and IRF) to demonstrate variability in river discharge patterns. This comprehensive dataset is stored in NetCDF and Shapefile formats, offering valuable insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers...

The Landsat Collection 2 Provisional Actual Evapotranspiration Science Product is available for download from https://espa.cr.usgs.gov/. Actual Evapotranspiration (ETa) is the quantity of water that is removed from a surface due to the processes of evaporation and transpiration and is measured in millimeters (mm). ETa can be fundamental in the understanding of the spatiotemporal dynamics of water use over land surfaces. Landsat Collection 2 (C2) Provisional ETa Science Products are available globally for Landsat 4-5 Thematic Mapper (TM), Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+), and Landsat 8-9 Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor (OLI/TIRS) scenes that can be successfully processed to C2 Level-2...

We developed an improved approach to the parameterization of the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model using the Forcing and Normalizing Operation (FANO). The FANO parameterization was implemented on two computing platforms using Landsat and gridded meteorological datasets: 1) Google Earth Engine (GEE) and 2) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center Science Processing Architecture (ESPA). Evaluation was conducted by comparing modeled actual evapotranspiration (ETa) estimates with AmeriFlux Eddy Covariance (EC) and water balance ETa from level-8 Hydrologic Unit Code sub-basins in the conterminous United States for five water-years (Oct-Sep; 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018). The results...

The dataset contains the land cover, climate (precipitation and air temperature), unit hydrograph and its characteristics (peak and time to peak), and study watershed boundaries. These data were applied to investigate the impacts of changes in land cover and climate on stormflow of evolving six urban watersheds, representing six different hydroclimate of the conterminous United States. Overall, the study found increasing trends in peak and decreasing trends in time to peak of unit hydrographs, suggesting larger and quicker stormflows driven by changes in land cover and climate. The long-term trends in unit hydrograph characteristics could be useful for projecting future stormflows and implementing flood forecasting...

CONUS-wide annual water-year actual ET (ETa) data using Landsat resolution satellite imagery from the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model (version 2.6) with the Forcing and Normalizing Operation (FANO) parameterization. Raster data products were generated for five (5) water-years (Oct-Sep; 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018). Data and metadata is provided for individual GeoTIFF tiles distributed in the UTM Zone in which it lies, available for each water-year.
