Rhyolite columnals forming part of "Karnak Ridge," near present Ragged Top Mountain, Trinity Range (called "Montezuma Range" by King Survey). "Karnak" was named for its resemblance to the multi-columned Egyptian temple (Rabbitt, p. 165). Alternate title "Volcanic Ridge, Trinity Mountains (Nevada)" (Naef, p.37).
