Album caption: Slumped Grayson formation and Devils River Limestone in a cave-fill zone at the Mariposa Mine. The cave-fill zone developed where a vertical fracture intersected the topmose limestone beds. The white rock in the lower left of the photograph is Devils River Limestone and the darker rock above is Grayson formation. The beds were horizontal before solution and slumping occurred. Terlingua district, Brewster, Texas. circa. 1943. Published as plate 7-B in U. S. Geological Survey. Professional paper 312. 1959.

Album caption: Limestone-clay contact deposit, main stope, Fresno Mine. Banded rock in center is cinnabar-impregnated cave-fill clay; limestone to left. The darker bands are richer in cinnabar; the black bands contain 50 percent or more cinnabar. Terlingua district, Presidio County, Texas, circa. 1943. Published as plate 8-A in U. S. Geological Survey. Professional paper 312. 1959.
